    Backlit Keyboard

So does anyone out there have a good backlit keyboard that theyd recommend? Ive wanted a backlit keyboard since my roommate got his macbook pro with its nice levels of backlighting. Ive seen a few on newegg, but most have bad reviews or are insanely expensive for a keyboard ($200). THis is the only reasonably priced one that didnt get ripped to shreds Newegg.com - Logitech G11 Gaming Keyboard - Keyboards

I have the newer (orange) G15, it's backlit, and I love it. I don't see why the G11 would be any worse. I would recommend going to a local store and see if they have overstock to get rid of. I always see them on sale at best buy, but never online.

I have an old G15. I hardly use the programmable keys on the left side and I always keep the lcd lid closed. If they slimmed down this keyboard I would recommend it, actually I think thats what they did with v2 of it. This Razer looks good, its backlit and also has connections for headphones and a mic which I find convenient.

I use this keyboard and love it. You have the option of having no backlighting, having AWSD just being back lit or having the whole keyboard. They keys on the keyboard are also low profile.

I think you might be able to find an old version of the G15 at about the same price. It's everything there but with the Media Display panel. I personally love the G15 models, old and new. Not so much the orange backlight though, but that's just personal tastes. But yeah, as Ceph says, the G11 wouldn't be any worse at all.

    I had an old G15, bought sister a G11, and recently bought myself a G15 V2 (orange).

The Orange one is much slimmer and not nearly as wide, this was a big big selling point for me or I would never have gotten rid of my g15. Love these keyboards, I don't think I could ever stray away from them.

I have the Lycosa, it's decent. I also had the Saitek one, which was decent for a while, but not that great.

Lycosa is fucking sexy as hell. I love it. If you don't like or don't want a bunch of G-keys (don't worry, most of the existing keys are still programmable I think) and love the more standard keyboard layout, the Lycosa is the best you're gonna find. Even if not, the Lycosa is a pretty damn good choice. Very thin, but the keypresses feel very very good imo.

if you want something cheap yet reliable and usable you cant go wrong with the g11 blue... durable etching on the keys, nice tactile feed back from the keys (they arent silent though when typing quick if that bothers you, they "clack"). i went through 5 keyboards in less than a year before i got the g11 and they all had the letters asdw scratched off as normal wear and tear. my g11 still looks brand new after about a year. if you got the space on your desk and have uses for the"G keys"
    i highly recommend the g11

I use a first gen Saitek Eclipse (red backlit) and it was really cheap, $30.

    Newegg.com - Saitek Eclipse USB Standard Keyboard - $30.99
Newegg.com - Saitek Eclipse II USB Standard Keyboard - $59.99
Newegg.com - Saitek Eclipse III Black USB Wired Standard Backlit Keyboard - $79.99

I can't really attest to the Gen 2 or 3 Eclipses, but the first one is well worth the $30 I spent, still using it and have had no problems whatsoever.
