For some reason, people feel prideful when they say they have been a democrat/republican for 20+ years. It's an asinine statement because neither party's platform is anywhere near what it was 20 years ago. The people stopped dictating the politicians' positions - now the politicians dictate the peoples' positions. So many people are caught up in the evil GOP and retarded libs. Nothing ever gets done and instead fingers are just pointed blaming the other. It's never a party doing good; it's always a party doing bad.

We fucking put Obama in charge with a supermajority in congress and it has been nothing but disappointment (for me at least). Healthcare reform was one of the biggest reasons I voted for him and if he backs down because of the minority spreading lies about death panels and god knows what, then Obama is a failure

I have to clarify. Unlike some people here seem to be doing, i'm using the term politician to refer to the fact that politicians lie and they do dubious things in order to get elected, and that Obama stretched the truth during his election should have been expected. I'm not saying that he's an evil fiend that came out of the netherrealms.

The only point you're making is that progressives are intelligent and aware enough over specific opinions and statements made by their elected official to dissent. We don't vote against a public option in healthcare because of abortion or the 10 commandments in federal buildings.
