Actually, for the sake of clarification, there is a post advertising the very same position as the OP here on ZAM. This was particularly upsetting for us considering what we've been noticing.

I apologize in advance if it turns out that content has been taken and re-worded. I can't speak Japanese at all, so I trust my staff to do their work... by themselves.

Zyuu, what is your translators native language? Apparently in addition to not knowing their Japanese, they have issues with English too. This is not meant to be nit picking but a serious concern. Since their work will be read and scrutinized by thousands, your paramount concern should be their knowledge of the languages they're translating to and from.

As many others have stated & implied, you should simply move on from this. You need to let this person go and hope you have better luck with their replacement. Also, please don't forget to make the replacement prove their translation prowess before hand.

I'm also multilingual and the bit that gave it away was "the fruits of our labor" because metaphors are very often translated differently and can be interpreted many ways.

It's frustrating for both parties but Zyuu is also correct in that there's no direct evidence. Makaitenshi is adamant about not plagiarizing so it's a hard issue to deal with but this puts a toll on FFXIVcore's reputation as many people have already made up their mind in this situation.

That site icon looks AWFULLY familiar.. OH WAIT! It's because I MADE IT for Eorzeapedia.

Translation isn't the only issue your site is having. You can't even design your own favicon.

Eorzeapedia has also been having issues with FFXIVCore with stealing articles and original images without so much as a link back. To their credit they did remove the article... and then the images when we asked a second time.

I noticed that but I know nothing about how those icons work. Figured it was the same thing as when my ffxiclopedia icon switches into a ffxiah icon when going to and from both sites.

but seriously i think we're at point that we know Core's translator, while he did translate stuff at his own, he 'looked' at other translations (to make sure of his trans/had trouble with a word/or just re-word something he couldnt trans).
Because when I translate a paragraph and come translate it later it'll be different(minor but different/better). that's for one person, but two? there must be diffs..

im not forgetting to thank and credit FFXIVCore for the gamescom coverage and the interviews, much appreciate it.
