iPhone problem!

My iphone screen is not working, I tried restarting the iphone by holding the sleep/wake button and the bottom button. It turns on and turns off and all that but at the Screensaver screen I can't slide the bar, and there is no sound when I press the Sleep/Wake /button. Anyone had this problem before and can help me out? thanks alot

My friend's iPhone did something similar, but only on the top 20% or so of the screen.

my iphone first gen did that alot and comes back at random boyrfriends 2nd gen 3g does it too havent had that with the new 3gs yet

I've had tht problem. Wht I did was hold the top button and the circle button for a few minutes and it made an apple appear than it went back to normal. Did your iPhone get touched with water by anychance like on the screen?

Sorry to derail from the derail but I've got a problem with my phone as well. I've had it about a week now and I've jailbroken and unlocked it. Until today it's been fine but now when I try to bring up certain apps like amazon, eBay, or Facebook, it starts to open itthen goes back to the home screen. It's not only Internet apps either. Flashlight and level do the same. Any idea how to fix this or do I have to restore already?

Try to sync it and see if it works. It did for my touch when that was happening.
