New users are like voicemails. You have about 1, maybe 2 sentences to grab my attention and get your point across. If you succeed, congrats. Continue the win, and you'll be soon accepted. There's plenty of examples of this. With long standing members, I'll typically give them the time of day to read everything they have to say.
