Maybe what is being said doesn't need a response?
Anyway, I have noticed it as well, but I don't take it personally. I think people pay attention to what you say but don't know how you'll react to what they say in response, so they keep the responses to those whose reaction they can pretty-much predict. It isn't any different from in-person relations, which is the whole point of forums, or so we tell the people aren't into 'online relationships'.
