Nah, ffxi looks like crap compared to wow tbh, just different art styles, some of the zones in wow are magnificent... and the armor is so fucking awesome sometimes... like Ivve looks fucking crazy right now and she's in quest gear. Not like ffxi where you get scale mail models again at 75.

I'd say that the art style in FFXI is what makes it look better even though it's technically inferior (less technology but more done with it, you feel me?) .
It's really a shame, graphically I'm sure FFXIV is going to blow WoW away (and I don't just mean because it's gonna be using a better engine) but I bet it will be plagued with all kinds of other bullshit that will still make WoW the better game to play.

Well it's just a more realistic style, and you get used to it, so anything else comes off as cartoonish. I completely get it, and felt the same way for a while, but after you play wow for a bit and you start really looking at the armor textures and some of the sky and zone designs and idk... like I said 2 very diff style, kinda hard to compare the two.

Oh man, speaking of the sky... that shit was amazing in FFXI but what kills me is that they don't update anything for the older zones.
You can tell which zones are newer just by looking at the sky. Original and Zilart zones look pretty bad when you look up there.

Some CoP zones are pretty cool but ToAU/WotG zones have very realistic looking clouds and stars and things. It's very very nice.
