In theory, but they found people are willing to pay the same retail price and not have to leave their house. When was the last time a launch game on a console was cheaper on digital download versus going to the store to buy it?

In here, when it comes to psn and ps4 games, physical is almost always cheaper than digital, sometimes by quite a bit

Over time physical has more incentive to drop because they wanna get rid of the copies. No such issues with digital.

i'm sure Square has a small say on that digital sales like that can be. And SE in general is terrible at sales, even on their own website. Sure they do 50% or more off sometimes but they then turn around and want to charge you like $10 for standard shipping which makes your savings almost nonexistent. a Bubble envelope through USPS costs at most $4 so they are pretty crazy.

I am a little late to the latest console generation game but I have finally freed myself from some debt and my old house finally sold so I have an excess of cash burning a hole in my pocket and while I have plans to upgrade my computer, I also want to get a PS4. My question is: is the PS4.5/Neo or whatever they are going to call it worth waiting for? I am a big rpg fan and the games on PS4 that I am interested in playing are Odinsphere, Bloodborne, World of Final Fantasy and FFXV (even with its less than great showing at E3). I'm sure I'll find more games worthy of attention once I have the console and care more about the games on it. I am willing to wait if its worth it. I can keep myself occupied with other games until then.

Idk i would say don't bother with the PS4k unless you're getting a 4k TV and VR to go with it. All that junk will probably almost run you $2k lol without any games! PC and a regular PS4 really all you need to enjoy gaming, especially since Microsoft said so many of their future titles will be on PC also.
