get an elite, especially if you find a deal like that for $249, if you get the arcade for $199 your just gonna end up needing to buy stuff for it anyways
Trolling ebay for shiggles, may get a refurb elite and all its accessories for around $150 if I'm lucky. Not really trying too hard. What's M$'s policy on RRoDs in general? Main thing I'm worried about is perhaps not having a warranty on it or the possibility the system had been banned from Live for some reason.
only warrantied from them if its new
I just called the service center and the 3 year warranty on RRoD starts at original purchase date. Though mine was up in 2008, I basically told the guy that I can argue with him for an hour or he can give me the free repair coupon, and the call was 4 minutes long.
Not that it makes it worth buying a used 360, but it's not the end of the world. I wouldn't buy one, and if they made me pay the 99 for repair, I'd just say fuck it and find a ps3.
That, big time. Even more so if you end up getting an Arcade as it's fucking unplayable unless it's installed onto the hard drive and even then there's still slow down.

Since someone asked about Glyde:
It is amazing. Shipping is standard, they use their own bubble mailers, the prices are pretty amazing and there is no waiting for auctions to end only to be outbid with 5 seconds left. The prices are often much cheaper than eBay, and buying a game takes 1 click after you set up your account. I bought 5-6 games from them on my first order. Got them in and they were all used, all posted as excellent condition, and all arrived in exactly that - excellent condition. A few very tiny surface scratches on one of the discs is all I've found, but who cares? Plays flawlessly for less than buying new.
Amazon has 1-yr Subscription to PlayStation: The Official Magazine, Nintendo Power, PC Gamer, Official Xbox Magazine (w/ DVD) $5 Each
Really not sure about any of these as it IS really cheap, but I'm kind of glad to be free of magazines at this point and not really sure they'll provide anything worthwhile over just skimming gaming sites at this point.
magazines are good for shitter reading material
bioshock 2 $29.99 deal of the day
http://www.amazon.com/gp/feature.htm...pf_rd_i=409566
Ordered a few things, so just waiting for them to come in. I did try to get Vesperia from them, but I got a mail back a day later saying the seller couldn't fulfill the order or something, they'd been marked, blah blah. Wound up finding it for a few bucks cheaper from one of ebay's sister sites.
So yeah, figure that, Lost Odyssey, Blue Dragon, and Infinite Undiscovery can keep me busy for a bit. Was an SRPG I saw, Record of Agarest War or something, that had me kinda curious, but I guess it's still too new in NA to have any kind of good deals going. Laughed at the limited edition pack having one of those mousepads with an anime girl's breasts as gel rests.
