It's a freaking hard game. I don't know if I would have thought so 5-10 years ago, but I think I've gotten spoiled with the hand-holding all other games do these days. I find it a bit confusing without markers or specified checkpoints, but I really like the freedom so far. I'm sure it only gets better with augmentations and such.

Just keep in mind that you can type your own notes in the Note/Logs section, so use that for keeping track of door numbers and other stuff, since the game won't remember them for you unless it's still in the log.

And yeah, you will feel lost at times. Granted, back when I played Deus Ex, it gave me an excuse to explore the location, as the game is *littered* with shortcuts, hidden entrances, secret stashes, etc.

Not to derail any further, but that stuff makes me feel better. I'm just trying to be patient with it, despite seeming like an already really well made game.

AI pathfinding and reaction time are laughably bad also, so take advantage of that. Deus Ex is a huuuuuuge game even by today's FPS/hybrid standards.
