We really haven't seen a mass trade in of PS3s for 360s at all around the NW/Chi area. The only place its rampant is our college location near Purdue where the kids "JUST CANT STAND NOT HAVING ONLINEPEWPEWPEWCOD for more then 5 minutes w/e daddy's CC will buy them another ps3 when its back up anyways."

And yes, saw the coupon today actually. Customer had a family and owned all the systems but PS3. $100 off a new model... pretty badass deal imo.

I think I'm like artificially on the fence about this because I can't think of what they'd add to make it worthwhile to wait and pay more or even how low of a drop it could go, given it sure as hell won't be less than $200. I would guess it'd be something to do with security along with an addition like Move or a price dip, but I can't imagine what else. Unless someone else has an idea, I think it's PS3 times.

yeah, actually havent had a single ps3 traded in during this whole thing here, i know theres definitely not an influx in the other stores around atlanta either. look at it this way, trade it for $80-$100, and then pay $200 for an xbox and $60 for live? yeah, that makes a lot of sense just to be able to play online for 3 weeks you couldnt have otherwise

Gave in and decided to give Sony another try. I haven't been on the PS3 boat since my old fattie.

Got everything for $230.00 after coupons/10% discount + another discount from the manager since I feed my local Gamestop cash for breakfast (and pre orders every single time I'm in there buying something).

Gonna stick to single player games for awhile though. Me and friend chuckled a little when I set up the system and it couldn't connect to PSN.

That's why I hate gamestop. They give a pittance for your stuff in the form of store credit, then charge 100% msrp for anything you can use it on. you can get an xbox at target or amazon for $200, then get a $50 store credit for the purchase. Amazon also throws in a $20 live points card and the live membership cards can be found half off.

as far as that super bundle for $230 with over $100 in coupons, all of those games $15-25 new on amazon, $10 or so used. Besides the lottery-style coupon that they won by random chance and paying for a club card, they did about as good as normal internet prices (not bad).

so, I don't like gamestop, is what you can take away from this post...

getting the $200 xbox is a waste of money, and they're giving you money for a used system, you arent going to get back what you paid for used, dont expect it. get back 1/3 to 1/2 of what you paid for the experience, and then it goes down over time based on supply/demand

Having an xbox and not a gold account is just silly unless you are a fucking hermit. Also, I have yet to pay msrp for a year of live, Ive bought three years now for 34, 36 and 25. The dashboard has 30-40% off constantly too. I bought another PS3 with the coupon today too, have two at my house in NC now. Had been meaning to buy one for the bedroom for blu rays and netflix.

I havent paid full price for live for years. I don't even tell my customers to buy the one year cards. I tell them to buy the 3 month and renew through the dashboard.
