Do the "Class X" car tokens randomly pick a car or are they fixed results?

edit : Jaguar XJ13
adfuhasdrun found my old driving force for ps2 and hooked it up. driving with a wheel is almost impossible, shit tries to spin out on straights, wtf. just jerks back and forth if i let go. does this happen with G25/7s, driving force gts, or fanatec wheels?
Does it on my G27 also.
Also, from http://www.gtplanet.net/yamauchi-on-...-updates-more/
Kazunori Yamauchi has been fielding questions from fans on Twitter over the past few hours. The tweets are in Japanese, but with a little help from Google and medhi_san, we can get a pretty good idea of what he’s talking about. Here’s the highlights:
- Flexible camera angles and “dynamic and wide-area lighting needs” are to blame for the sometimes blocky shadows. Yamauchi admits they are a problem and wants to improve them.
- Yamauchi appears to consider the possibility of removing the in-game HUD (heads-up-display features) at some point in the future.
- To unlock the Red Bull X1, you’ll need to complete the “Sebastian Vettel Challenge”, which appears at Level 30.
- Online “lounge” functionality and other features will be added “one by one”.
- Polyphony Digital continues to work on fully supporting the Logitech G25 and G27, though Yamauchi admits he would like a “new steering device soon”…
- Mechanical damage options will be implemented in a new update for GT5 coming “early December”.
- As you may know, many players noticed that GT5’s face-tracking functionality only worked in Arcade mode. According to Yamauchi, it’s not available in GT mode due to memory issues with the PS3.
- In-game rewards (such as the monetary prize in GT5 Prologue) for your performance in online events is something Polyphony Digital is considering, and may be implemented in a future update.
- Gran Turismo 5’s official, 2-disc sound-track will be released soon.
- Yamauchi wanted to implement a “free roam” gameplay mode in GT5, where players could drive around, respecting speed limits and obeying traffic laws, and even exit the car to walk around and explore the environment on foot.
- The YouTube replay upload feature had to be pulled from the final version of the game because it took a very long time to render and it consumed too much memory. Yamauchi is still considering it, however.
As always, it is refreshing and exciting to see Yamauchi’s interactions with fans via Twitter. Let’s hope the medium continues to be a valuable open line into Polyphony Digital as GT5 to evolves!
Sounds pretty good, especially for those of you with a G25/27.
They should just re-implement the YouTube upload feature, but keep it to replay theatre only, that way it wouldn't affect performance during the game itself.
Hope the G25/27 thing means we get our own profile soon, or at least a generic "Press pedal/button to map it to this function" config mapper.
Two things I want to see, one he addressed already. An option to turn the god damn HUD off in the cockpit view. It gets in the way of the otherwise beautiful rendering of the cockpit as well as being fairly redundant. The other that gives us fast forward and rewind options during the replay so it's easier to get cool looking photos. I don't know how in the hell they let that one slide by. Oh and I'd like to see them make better use of their time change and weather system. It's used waaaaaay too little. It seems pretty crummy to make such a big deal over it and then like 1% of the tracks make use of the feature.
Pretty much agree with all of this. The couple times I've used cockpit view I end up just looking at the HUD anyways. As for the weather/time, weren't all tracks supposed to have time and weather changes? It seems at least for the time change, it wouldn't be difficult at all to implement.
Unrelated, but how are you dudes getting your pictures off of the ps3? Some home network type deal, or a flash drive? I'd like to start taking some pictures and using them for my desktop and phone wallpapers.
Also gamestop finally emailed me my preorder code. For whatever reason it didn't give me the gamestop NASCAR, but I only really cared about the McLaren F1 Stealth which I now have and it's sexy as fuck.
I wish it were possible to take pictures of two separate cars at once, it would make an awesome picture next to my '10 McLaren MP4-12C. I especially like how the carbon hood upgrade shows the lift points on the outside.
Starting to forgive B-Spec after watching my Granite-Coloured Lambo scream through winding tracks.
Helps it's an 800+ bhp monster I spent 300k on, the AI would have to try and lose in it.
Any recommendations on a Pickup Truck for that B-Spec race? AI can't seem to make use of the Ford I beasted the race in.
I use a flash drive to pull my pictures off my ps3 after I export them to the XMB or whatever PS3 calls it. You could probably use your network to pull them off as well when you start the PS3 media server. I honestly don't remember how networking the PS3 works because I never do it. Shitty router is shitty and PC internet > PS3 internet.
I haven't tried it but you could also just make a Picasa account and upload them directly from your PS3 to your Picasa account using the Photo Gallery app on the XMB.
You could also upload it to facebook using the same thing but that's retarded.
I'll prob try the Picasa thing later because I don't have a USB stick at the moment.
Spoiler: show
Also, since the NASCAR events are fucking terrible, set the ABS to 0 which forces Active Stability Management off. It will save you so much frustration trying to figure out why you can't catch the leader.
Uploading to Picasa through XMB Photo Gallery app works then? Awesome.
