Looks like DLC cars can't be gifted. Tried sending an F1 stealth and some chrome line cars, all of them come up with an error when trying to gift saying it isn't allowed.

How the heck are people able to flip? lol I tried staging flips while playing arcade mode with my wife, but no luck!
On the right side of the chicane before the start line on Trial Mountain is where I flipped. Just take a car and go flat out and hit it.
Tried that but probably not fast enough. Only used an arcade sti.
i flipped in that 2007/2008 rally car you can use in arcade mode. got the trophy for flipping and for shit falling off the car at the same time, lol
I would like to trade a Ford Mark IV for a tuned Ferrari (not a California or F40), or a tuned Gallardo. Anybody interested?
I haven't been able to beat those Loeb challenges yet but I don't really have a comfortable setting for my wheel and the feedback just kind of fucks everything else. But yeah if you don't stay straight or as straight as possible and you lose power/boost you just kind of slide with no power.
Been playing this on my buddy's PS3. Breaking zones are more refined than forza, but overall forza just feels better, even with all the assist controls off on both. As a tip for the rally events, turn off the active stability management if you have it on (Shows as a Blue Triangle with an ! inside, lights if you have it on and lose grip). It doesn't allow power to go to the wheels if you're drifting in dirt or snow, and you'll keep accelerating if you're on the throttle. You'll need to have a little drift to maintain the control and flip the corners properly to keep speed up. I'd also suggest using the Ford Focus ST for the beginner class (Tunable to 244HP, one less than class limit, comes with turbo standard, and handles close to an AWD car), and switch to an Impreza WRX STI for the intermediate.
However, i'm super upset that the RS200 and the Lancia Stratos aren't premium cars, given their immense history in Group B Rally.
I disagree, I liked Forza's interface and layout, as well as getting bonuses for not using driving aids. But GT5's physics engine feels better, it's also a shame how you can't turn all Forza's driving aids off (I don't know if they patched this since I played it last, though). It is a shame some really nice cars are only standard models though. I love the driving tests and the special events in GT5 though, as infuriating as they can be.
So this weekend i finally unlocked the endurance races, and i can honestly say i am not sure i wanna even try doing them all, they are massively under tuned most of them i have done and i am 15 laps in the lead by the time we are finished. Also doing 203 laps round Tsukaba Circuit is enough to make anyone insane... then to top it all off the reward cars so far have all been shit.
The only driving aids in Forza are ABS, TCS, ESP and the driving line. They all turn off. There's not even extra goodies available in GT5 like ASM or Skid Recovery in Forza either. After toying with some of the cars available in both Forza, GT5, and what I've driven, Forza is the closest to those cars in real life. Also upset that there's no clutch option for driving without a wheel like there is in Forza. Tiny minute differences in each of the tracks that are shared by GT5 and Forza. It's also upsetting that damage doesn't come in till level 40, because some of the main events are frustrating compared to the others, and damage would fix the offending problems. (Vitz race. Even with tuned car running 20-40 HP more, and soft sports tires, the other cars are able to catch you with a 7 second lead on the main straight)
Overall the feel of Forza seems much more akin to a real car vs GT, where only the braking zones make sense. That and breaking the car loose to drift some turns is exceedingly hard to pull off in GT, where while difficult, still not as frustratingly hard to do.
Forza 3 has Active Steering Aid that you can't turn off. At least I couldn't when I played it.
Controller, I read some forums that said if you used a wheel it would recognize and turn the active steering aids off automatically but I never tried because I don't own a Fanatec or MS wheel. I remember seeing a video saying that was untrue though, so I never really found out.
EDIT: I found the vid
Never noticed the active steering before then, and never even noticed it being off compared to GT5, as I'm driving with zero aids. Then again, I'm used to driving a car with no ABS or Power steering and refuse to drive a car with active steering that I cant disable.
Forza's physics engine is years behind even the physics from GT4 let alone GT5. Also one of the biggest criticisms of Forza was the unrealistic behavior or RWD drive cars, which didn't behave at all like RWD cars. Forza has a higher level of personal customization in a sense that cars feel "more like your own", if you're into that stuff. Personally I like the customization that GT5 offers more; that is to say I like the level of customization offered for mechanical settings and feel that's more important than the visual customization forza offers. Especially for someone who appreciates unique car setups and road feel.
I haven't received a PM from him yet so...
