these are examples of the standard model, taken from caps of a video though. Look pretty good in motion, but definitely not as beautiful as the premium cars.
EDIT: Also, fap fap

The premium cars look fucking nuts, I was looking at them before class started today and someone walked by and didn't believe me when I told him it was a video game.
I can't get over how amazing this game looks, Microsoft may have Froza, but with them release a new game every year, the shit is no where near the quality as one of these games will put out until the 8th game in the series, which by then will be on the next gen console line up.
I picked up a Playseats Evolution for $150 ($185 shipped) on eBay and picked up the G25's shifter add-on thingy for an extra $30. Looks great if you can keep the wiring clean and simple.
Anyone got any tips regarding this?
My G27 has 4 bloody wires involved, and it's a pain to have to assemble to my desk and store away when I'm done with it. Was easier on the Driving Force GT where everything plugged into the rear, but here (like the G25 I assume) it's in an inaccessible location once you mount it to the desk, but I guess it was designed like that to ensure everything is secured in their ports.
(the space the G27 takes when not in use was annoying to the point where I actually rearranged my bedroom slightly and cleared one of my storage compartments to make it my dedicated 'controller' storage unit)
Also, it appears GT5's 3-D mode will be using 1080p screen resolution as well, but I can't find any info as to whether it's actually making use of the space over 720p, or is just upscaled for the sake of the TV's convenience.
We drilled holes into the actual frame and slipped all the wiring through them.
As much as I occasionally hated penalties I didn't deserve in Prologue, I prefer that system just for the simple fact that racing AI still sucks balls for some reason and rams your shit all the time. Going to suck when you're doing something great and get your car trashed by idiot computers.
You know the only problem with this game is the same problem I had with GT4 and that's the release date. I got into FFXI when GT4 came out and then never played it as much. FFXIV's coming out near end of year >_>;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;
Also, fuck trucks & motorcycles in a car game!
None premium cars don't have cockpit view....
*sadfaceeeeee*
Funny, you'd actually want to play cockpit view in non-premium cars more than premium ones. Meh, 'least it's got BMW 3.
Dunno about that, I'd much rather the premium cars have fully modeled interiors that I can look around rather than the standard. I'd rather have the interiors modeled for cars that I'll never be able to afford vs most cars I can go to the nearest dealership and experience myself.
Also, Yamauchi is considering putting in a 'standard' generic cockpit for the non-premium cars according to one of his recent public interviews. I dunno if it will happen though.
I don't care for cockpit view honestly. All I need is a hood-view and I'm good to go, preferably with that head-tracking functionality too.
Less crap cluttering the screen the better, as cockpit views tend to hog the lower 50% of the screen making it a bitch to see the road.
I prefer cockpit view simply because it gives you the spatial markers of driving a real car, you judge things by when they enter from your side window to your windshield field of vision.
Though cockpit view is a lot less real-estate heavy in a 3 display setup than it is in a 1 display setup.

Go-Karts? Game pretty much has everything nowSony may have dropped a few details about Gran Turismo 5 (like a release date) at its E3 presentation, but it was saving the real news for an even bigger event: Cue random interview on the UK PlayStation site with Sony Worldwide Studios head Shuhei Yoshida.
In this interview, Yoshida casually confirms the existence of unannounced elements in the racing sim, including a track editor and go-karts. For every individual driver, Yoshida says there is " a driving experience to suit, whether that is taking on the Top Gear test track, chucking cars around stunt arenas, go-karting, creating and sharing your own track or intense head-to-head races."
Elsewhere in the interview (and just as nonchalantly), Yoshida references some " new game-enhancing graphical effects, such as damage, night racing and weather." Damage has already been confirmed and weather rumored.
Of course, we aren't totally sure Gran Turismo 5 is a real game yet, and if it is as imaginary as it seems to be, you can say pretty much anything is in it, like: "Gran Turismo 5 will feature Crocodile Mile racing." See? There's as much proof for that feature that we just made up as there is for anything else, and that will be the case until the game is released.
Awesome. That's all I can say.
Yep, stunt arenas and track editor and sharing. I can now see why this game took like 5 years to make, damn.
Shoj, you better pick this up so we can race on crazy stunt tracks in our million dollar premium cars while smack talkin' over our BT headsets.
(probably a trophy for that >.>)
I want there to be a trophy for beating one of The Stig's times on the Top Gear track in the same car he used.
Or a 'Beat Jay Kay from Jamiroquai in the Star in a Reasonably Priced Car competition'.
That would be fuckin' awesome.
