Honestly for me having the TG track is one of the biggest selling points for on this game. So excited. =X

Fuck me, they're selling the Logitech g27 at Amazon for $240 with $60 mail in rebate, so comes out to $180... Don't have the spare cash to splash on this right now but holy fuck I would jump on it if I did, purely for GT5.

What's so much better about the G27 over the G25? I just see lights on the steering wheel but that's about it.

helical gears make less noise and gets rid of the click. 6 buttons on the wheel instead of 2, LED indicators, optical reading off the wheel to reduce deadzones. Not a huge difference, but if you don't have a g25 already, g27 is a good buy.

Not to mention $180 for g27 is cheaper than any g25 I can find anywhere atm.

This game is coming out right before I'll likely be heading out for a 3 month underway for the Coast Guard so I'm gonna be on it like stink on poop to keep myself occupied for those 3 months.

And man, that deal on the Logitech is tempting.

Most of this shit is done by other arcade series, and better. The use of the word simulation in the title is a farce.

Cars in PGR franchise looked as good/better years ago, and all of them had better interiors. The 'ring was modeled accurately in that too, so its hardly something to shout about. The track previews of GT5 are underwhelming, things have moved on.

Forza especially is going to give this a run for its money, there are lots of things that are unconfirmed for GT5 that forza already has or has confirmed. Dirt2 while aimed at a kind of strange audience, and suffering content-wise for it, is also pretty decent.

If you want serious racing on a serious simulator, rFactor and iRacing are your only options.

rFactor user content can be a bit iffy, but its all free and unlimited, if you so desire you can have every racing circuit in the world and 25,000 cars ready to go. The top modding houses do an outstanding job, every major racing series is covered with several incredible mods.

As far as online, league play really sets them apart, DTMliga, F1liga, F1elites, and iRacings proprietary leagues trash the 'destruction derby against a bunch of 5 year olds' of console online play.

The only simulators that provide the same level of detail and reality are professional sims designed not for enjoyment but rather to train professional drivers on the courses. GT has always provided the closest realistic details while also maintaining it's fun factor. Professional racing sims are not comparable to GT.

Also Forza is a subsitute for GT. Forza is a good game, but different. GT simply provides more.

Froza 2 was great but when I touched 3 I wanted to kill it. Started up GT4 on my ps2 and damn I forgot how much space this shit takes up on a memory card.

I play Live for Speed on the PC. It's not as pretty as rFactor but it gets the job done. Shit looks crazy on 3 monitors too.

I'll have to give rFactor a shot then because I've heard nothing but good reviews from it.
