I think all of these events are going to need to change the transmission to be very acceleration biased. I drove pretty well and was still 6 seconds away from the first place GT.

All I did on all 5 events was buy the car, do every mod that doesn't affect weight or power and that's about it. I didn't mess with any of the settings. Was pretty easy. The Fiat 500 race I had to do twice to get 1st place. Overall pretty fun but it's a shame the reward is a one time deal.

BTW the X1 (or X2010 wtf it's called) is the most ridiculous thing ever conceived. My arms were killing me after the three races. Best I got was bronze on all three. Went from Lv30 to 31 within an hour.

Haha yeah it is. I just did the laguna seca endurance, and I had to take a few breaks since my hands and my arms were going nuts.

My B-Spec's 27 now and is doing the Laguna Seca endurance as we speak. Wanna try to hit 28, and hit 30 by Christmas so I can do some X1 action. Finished golding all the events as well. Amazingly enough, the Fiat was the hardest one, lol.. but I finally got it.

What's a good place to find driving wheel comparisons? I'd like to get one, but won't be able to spend $300-400 on one...looking at the Logitech GT Driving Force wheel (around $120ish)

just looking for some comparisons of like priced wheels, I want to find the best one I can for the money.

Honestly, you probably won't notice any difference between the Driving Force and the $500 wheel. The DF will work well enough for anything you want it to do, I'd just get that to save yourself a crap ton of money.

The best thing to do for those races (ie all of the events and licenses) is to memorize where the AI cars are going to be, they drive the exact same line every time, unless if you interfere with them. Winning those races is more of you driving a good line around the cars, than it is driving a good line through the course, since you'll never win them if you aren't aggressive in trying to overtake.

So did a few endurance races yesterday and am almost 28 B-Spec, woot. 26 Aspec too. Finished up golding the Top Gear VW Van/Elise tests. God that Elise test was heartwrenching. Almost won twice, only to be tapped by the 2nd/3rd place cars at the last corner.

yeah and that's the part that is a little frustrating, they don't deviate from their line even when you have the advantage. non-AI drivers would probably let it go at some point.

I still have a bronze on IA-10. Was going back and changing my silvers to golds some last night, and some where more of a bitch than others and I just skipped for the time being. Did the 4 hour Roadster race overnight. Got my main driver to 31, so I'm working on a second driver and he's 23.

Either way.. yeah, it took me AGES to get IC-10's silver. I am NOT looking forward to gold, lol. That Ferrari they give you is absolute dogshit.

The license test that I can't gold is the IC-1, the brake at 1000m with the jaguar. Every fucking time I get .025 to .050 above gold and I can't figure out how to get it any lower. Every other braking test I've golded, this one is just dumb.

Also about bumping the cars and it automatically DQing you, there is a little leeway with it. You can bump the sides of them slightly and it usually will let that slide. You'll have to play around with it, but once you figure out the proper amount of force it gives you, it can be a pretty big advantage.

And yeah, you can bump the side, but if they bump YOUR side, sometimes it'll DQ you too. I found that out with the Elise. Btw, going from the VW Van to the Elise as I was golding those.. god that was a huge difference, rofl. I was like OH GOD MY BACK KEEPS GOING OUTTTT

what camera view do you guys prefer using? I saw a hueg thread over at gtplanet where almost everyone uses bumper cam...I tend to use chase cam for now - been using it since GT1 first came out. I'll probably really try to get into cockpit cam once I get a driving wheel.

Bumper for any racing game that has the view, I will use it.

Bumper for me. I've always used it, even when I used a controller for 1 and 2. I used to use the third person view for any racing game, but after playing with bumper for so long I can't do anything else. I also don't drive as well in the cockpit view, seeing the steering wheel move tends to throw me off, as well as not being able to judge the sides of the car as well.

Bumper-view for simulation since cutting the corners is more important than having better spacial awareness for me, and vice-versa for arcade racing games.

I have to say I've barely touched GT5 outside of the first week of purchase. Just not having fun with the dualshock 3, and I can't use my G27 on this desk, shit wobbles too much and I'd rather not accidentally have my PS3/monitor topple over if I get a little too much 'into' it.

Bumper cam. Damn 3 years of Initial D glued me to driving on the bumper. I think last driving game I did the chase cam was NFS:Underground. And by the time Most Wanted came out, I couldn't stand the chase cham.

Bumper cam here too, and sometimes the inside view if I want to look at the inside and drive down a huge straight like on Special State Route 7.

Also, the reward for B-Spec 24hr is lol.

Bumper cam here, i might use the hood cam once i open up my DFGT under the xmas tree. Lol seems like i should just concentrate on bspec a bit more too, my levels are still low but some of the b rewards are better than a. I'm just scared of putting my drivers to gt all stars w/ the current cars i have tho. Lol

And holy shit gt all stars is hard, i'm trying w/ the zr1 rm and a nissan r92, but i'm just having too much trouble, i need to better my driving skill, these bigger money rewards are urging me to get better.
