I personally raped All Stars with uhhh.. the F1GT car, lol. I think you can use that there? Then again, you obviously need to buy it and it's not cheap. I'm about to hit the 10mil plateau though :3

I use the hood/roof cam mostly. I used to use the chase cam in older GT's, but it doesn't have the same feel in this game. I'd use the bumper cam, but I don't like not being able to see over cars or small hills on the track.

The FGT is expensive, but i'd love to use the premium ferrari f1 car once i break 10 mil, lol. But is it found in the used car lot and what level do you have to be to find it? I know it's a lvl 24 car.

Is it just me or does anyone else enjoy racing with the lower powered cars (200 to ~500 hp range) instead of the zomg high end torque and hp (700hp+) that can have the tendancy to spin the rear wheels with the slight bit of gas?

I think I blame the downloaded A-Spec challenges for renewing my interest in hard competitive racing as opposed to lulz Minolta or X1 or F1GT your way to completion.

and it's 4.9mil I think. You can get it in the online used car lot right now. That's where most have gotten it now instead of the old way of refreshing the used car lot over and over. Took four hours to get mine, lol

Depends what my goal is, really. If I'm trying to level up and "progress" in the game, I'd rather use the fastest car on the most exp efficient race. But if I actually feel like playing the game just for the fun of it, yea I agree it is much more fun to use a competitive car and realistic tires (ie: not putting racing slicks on my '86 MR2)

I do plan on redoing some races w/ same spec cars once i get my wheel, i just never found any satisfaction playing w/ a pad.

I mean hell my rl car is stick shift and i fucking love driving irl, i just want to experience those cars w/ a wheel and racing them w/ a wheel rather than a pad. Lol

all stars can be done with the zr1 rm, but if you wait till you get the minolta you'll destroy it. Just did bspec all stars yesterday with the fgt and my driver was lapping people every race.

It has to do with the F1 licenses, apparently. Some douche owns all of the F1 car licenses(and he only is allowing Codemasters to use it, since they namedrop it), and for whatever reason, doesn't own the F2007 nor the F10, but they still can't be used in a race setting. That's why PD made their own F1, and why it can be used in any race.

I think that's where I have the most fun in the game, is tweaking/tuning lower end cars and really trying to race well. I feel like most of the high end cars are so overpowered, they can easily cover up lack of driving skill - ie sick handling and acceleration/top end speed. I like running in cars where if I make a mistake, it's going to cost me more than just a couple of seconds on the cars that are behind me. I probably have the most fun racing my Honda Civic Type R and Nissan Silvia right now.

also, I looked into using the roof/hood cam last night, and I like that view a lot. I can see the width of my car so I'm not bumping into shit like I do with the bumper cam, and visibility is better than cockpit cam (where it's offered)

I found something similar with the Collector's Edition car pack...you can't use them in the races that you'd want to use them in (ie can't use the Shelby Cobra 427 in the Muscle Car events). Lame, but I think it is because they are 'chrome editions'. Basically these cars are just pretty to look at

Well that's fucking retarded. You'd think you'd want to share the licenses with GT5 considering how big and worldwide the game is, you know? So yeah.. here's hoping when I get the level 24 ticket, I can get a different colored GTF1.

Working on my third Indy 500 (did two others over night) on B-Spec and am about to hit 29. Then I gotta grind to 30 for some X12010whatever action! Also have like..12mil credits almost lol

maybe for unrestricted events, but if you try to use it for any time period or region restricted events, it won't let you. well, I should say it won't let me, at least.

but I did get 5 pretty kick ass cars, so I can't complain too much I suppose.

I'll have to go back and try it. I don't remember if I tried to any of them for events like that, just time period events. Hopefully I can, just so I can get some use out of them, otherwise they will probably just sit and look pretty

managed to gold the RX-7 special event, the CR-Z Fiat and challenger are still giving me trouble tho. lol But thanks to the RX-7 even I managed to get 21 A spec and now i'm just doing like the wind over and over, any special tuning I need to do to the minolta btw?

Well.. you can lower the aerodynamics and mess with the transmission until you get to a good number for the best acceleration, but not really. The reason why the Minolta rapes with that race is because the computer suck ass at cornering lol

You can spam Like the Wind until you get to the American Championship. Granted, you have to get to 24 to get the car that's good at the American Championship (Ford GT Spec II LM Race Car I believe it is), so it'll take a bit, but payoff's worth it.
