When I saw the examples for the Vettel challenge, I said to myself "no way in hell I'd be able to manage these racing lines." I think the 3rd chicane in the 3rd race you take at 200mph. I'd find that physically impossible seeing as how you would die experimenting to find that line without eating grass/wall at 150mph+ if it were real life.

I couldn't believe i was trying to grind "Like The Wind" for money when the seasonal events were left untouched. I went from 22 to 26 in just over 1 1/2 hours and made 6m credits. It's like GTEasyMode.

Yeah.. while people like me and some others in this thread made their first 10mil the hard way of grinding/grinding/grinding Indy 500 on the American Championship. Fuck you, GT5.

Anyone else have as many problems with the FGT as me? Maybe i'm just becoming an old man but my brain wont move my fingers quick enough to keep up. Maybe i need a wheel...

It's caused by the way those cars work. They have a certain speed threshold at which their grip maximizes. The problem is that if you drop below that threshold the cars become very difficult to control. It's kinda an anticipation thing. You have maintain a very consistent speed through corners otherwise you get a dramatic slow down. I've actually not beaten that race yet because I still have issues setting the car up to my liking.

So you played for 4 hours and ebayed it? I mean, besides how easy the game has gotten thanks to the seasonal events, i think the game is overall fun. I mean you barely gave the game a chance and didn't progress to the harder portions of the game.

Not sure if you ever played a gt game ever then. They all start a bit slow as your are in cheaper/lower powered cars as the game goes though events to mainly make you learn the basics of racing before you get into higher powered machines.

Just about to finish a 24 hour le mans b-spec. I think it's batshit crazy using the X1 at night in the rain. The damn thing doesn't even have windshield wipers lol. Drivers are still boss taking some turns at 150mph+. I wish there were more courses that had night time racing available.

If you got frustrated at this game then you were neglected as a child, unless all the racing games you've played have been NFS then you just don't understand racing, its all about taking the shortest way around the track, if you trying to NFS this game by going 100 into a corner your not doing it right. this game is about precise movements so if you cant do that then im sorry for you

Don't forget Burnout! People who played Burnout Paradise (me) and moved to GT5 have HUGE adjustments to make. It took me FOREVER to not want to bumper car with every car in front of me, or try to side swipe them.. or my favorite; e-braking around a tight turn, rofl.

Buying a game and ebaying it after 4 hours is just..insane. Not sure what part of the game you were playing, really. Starting with the License tests is sorda eeeh. Yeah it'll get you used to the type of turns, but if you try to gold everything from the start, you'll rage. I just went for 'silver or better' on them all until I finished, then go back to work on golds. Special Events are fun with the Kart, but fuck that NASCAR, man, haha. And A-Spec's not too bad.

Just beat my first FGT race. I decided to race the last event at Suzuka, and try to get my setup right so I could beat that field. I would have the advantage of being able to restart that race as many times as I need until I was able to beat it, as I wouldn't be able to restart in the race. Hopefully I win enough that I can exit out of the last race and still have enough points for the championship.

There were many times during the race that I won, that I felt I was losing control. Going to be extremely tough to drive that well in the championship and not spin out, costing me the race.

Soo, did anyone make the second round of GT academy, or has anyone kept track of the event? Oh my god it's become such a joke with glitches and track exploits that I've all but given up. They gave me a voucher for GT for the psp though so at least my consolidation prize has some monetary value. GDI

My brother, the biggest GT fan probably of all time, just put his copy up for sale after earning the X1. Even he admitted that there really isn't much to do in the game, and the allure of the chase that was in the previous games is lacking in this one. No HKS drag cars to race or race against, no test course for high speeds, and a general sense of stagnation with the series has finally discolored one of the biggest fans of the series.

Personally, I just feel that they haven't improved since perhaps the third one. They took what always was and put it in front of us again, but the racing genre has improved so much over the last decade that giving us a high definition version of GT1 isn't going to cut it anymore. The "real" driving simulator feels clunky and old-fashioned; full of Mario Kart-style racing AI and a stiffness that even I can't get over. I had a lot more fun racing in Grid than I ever had with this game, and I wish Codemasters would merge with the guys working on the Shift 2 and just put out the ultimate racing game - at least for the current day and age.

I kind of agree and at the same time, I'll give PD the benefit of the doubt that there is more/free DLC content coming. The reason free is so important to me is because I feel they left a lot of things unfinished and like I said it's been completely exploited during the competition. That said because of the rampant cheating during the second round, they actually canceled the second round and everyone will now advance to the third. So looks like I get another shot at going to the UK.

I've pretty much stopped playing altogether. I don't even run b-spec races anymore (I think it's at 39, but I don't feel like having it run 5 more 24 hour races to hit 40). I don't really have any desire to do anything in a-spec anymore. The endurance races are pretty much the only way to consistently get an amount of exp that will help advance to the next level, but they are so bland that I don't want to do them. 9 hours of Tsukuba? Fuck that. The only reason I had been playing as long as I did, was some hope of getting all of the trophies. 1000 cars in my garage will definitely never happen, and I have no more desire to gold the events/licenses anymore. The seasonal events are a joke without any restrictions on the car, plus at level ~32, the only event that gives any appreciable amount of exp is the last one in the set.

I hope they do bring a bunch of DLC, this game needs it.
