Wow rofl. The new AI has a hell of a time with the Eifel track. I'm doing the newest seasonal event where you are in an RX-7, and the last three cars spin out in the first 3 turns. The AI has similar difficulties with other turns as well.

Edit: Another nice feature they added to the used car dealership and online dealership is an indicator if you already own that car.

Did you notice even with soft racing tires that the cars are sliding like you're on snow/rain?? Is it just me? Is it the SRF setting being forced to "on" for these races?

Yes, SRF is forced on, you can't turn it off. Makes the new specials kind of a joke, you can do them all except the last one with a barely tuned car, the last one you need quite a bit because you've got to beat ~7:30 on nurburg from where a GTR starts, but you start like 50 seconds behind.

And yeah, the eifel one is fucking hilarious, for the first few turns I thought it was supposed to be some kind of bumper car rigged shit because the AI is just spinning completely out of control all over the place lol.

Just borrowed a friends' X1. All I have to say is, WHAT THE FUCK. Almost want to hook up my G27 just to see how it handles on that as it's way too fast for my dualshock 3.

A shame they didn't delay the game an extra couple months, these patches are almost necessities. Game starting to look more and more like I was expecting it to be on launch, hope Polyphony keeps up the work.

The only problem with the x1 is that when you're using a wheel and on a straightaway, it feels like you're fighting with a drunk grizzly lol. There's no dead zone while going straight so it'll tire you out much worse than turning constantly.

Is that normal for cars to do that in video games that make use of a wheel? I always figured I just set it up incorrectly as the force-feedback always wants to make the car go left/right even when on a straight-away.



Also, fuck Sony for not offering an option to repair *your* PS3 as far as I can see. -.-

You don't feel a little silly using what amounts to a 1500 hp souped-up F1 car in the 24 hours of le mans?

I mean, I can understand wanting to just blow everything off the track in the ones that are x distance, and I can completely understand not wanting to risk coming in notfirst in a 24 hour endurance race on your ps3.

But that's the thing... it's timed. Winning by 100 laps instead of 10 doesn't mean you're going to finish the race any faster. There's a lot of cars you can win that race with easily that aren't going to put the strain on you that the X1 is.



Anyway, I got to 25 last night, and did the first endurance race. I don't know what the old exp rates were, but I got ~250k exp which covered a whole level. Only 150k credits tho lol >.>

I used my X1 for the 60 laps of um.. whatever the first endurance race is. Totally worth it just to finish it faster lol. The timed one, I can see using something else that is such a tire on my arms being much better though. I think I got like 120k xp for the first endurance race before the update. I haven't bothered doing it again.

This is mostly the reason why I'm going to use the X1 for those. Also I won't have to do as much of a race as I can let the time go when I'm up by a few tens of laps. Without a midrace save feature, I'm not likely to race the 24 hour series more than once anyway. Even the 9hour Tsukuba endurance I'll only do once.

For those endurance races, I'll probably just use a DS3. The force feedback on straights isn't singular to the X1 either, any car that can hit around 200 mph on a straight and I will feel it tugging back and forth.

You can get the Minolta Toyota that you win from Like the Wind to 991hp/850kg, it's enough that you straight up have to let the gears out or else even on racing soft you'll spin like mad up to about 120mph.

I used it for the first endurance race, won by like 9 laps despite not remembering to let out the gears more for a short track and having to change tires every 5-6 laps.

But yeah that should win le mans pretty easily, should win about any race in the game really.


Or you could always just buy the 5m F1, will smash about anything and isn't so ridiculous as the X1.

I suppose I can see going with the X1 if you intend to build massive leads and let it run for a while on the timed ones.

I've found the Minolta is impossible to drive when it rains. On Monza it couldn't even handle going in a straight line without the rear slipping out, and that was with me being very conservative with the throttle. From what I remember of the FGT championship, it handles only marginally better in the rain. I had to skip Suzuka during it because it kept spinning out, but winning every other race in the championship gave me more than enough points to still take first overall. At least for me, the X1 handles the best out of all three in the rain, which will be about (from what I watched during my bspec 24 hour le mans runs) half the race. I haven't tried any of them with a DS3, maybe it would be easier to control them in the rain with it, I don't know. Even still, all three of them have the same issues on straights, at least with the wheel I use, the driving force pro.

I agree whole heartedly. I'm impressed that Polyphony has continued to make the game better progressively, and I anticipate that they will continue to do so for a couple more years.

As for the FGT/X1/2010 and LMP type cars, they are soooooooo touchy with a dualshock! I can't wait for my DFGT to come in so I can get a good feel for what these type of cars can do.

i can drive the FGT with a dual shock just fine, i found a tune on GT planet and it drives amazing.

i tried doing the leob challenges again after not being able to get even bronze in the last 2, i get gold on the second one after the 2nd try (try meaning actually finishing) and i got the third one on my first finish and i was amazed i was actually able to finish them with a controller lol, speed freeks help a lot especially with small corrections with the FGT its amazing how perfect that car can turn lol.

and i was finally able to start an endurance race today and if i didn't use the FGT i would have been so bored lol, my best time during that was 1:28x and my average was about 1:34x so i was going really fast lol, i was trying to match it and i could only get 1:28 3 or 4 laps out of the 60

Have to set your drivers to be shared with friends, it's not automated.

I'm curious if I'll be losing any XP he gains via remote race whenever I get a new PS3. I can't recall if GT5 has the save copy protected?

You can copy your saves to a backup device. As long as you use the same PSN account, you'll be able to use your save on any PS3.

Got to 30 yesterday, X1 challenge is just lol...

Gonna take me a bit, have to actually learn the courses and shit for this one since trying to actually see what's coming and react is virtually impossible at those speeds. Don't think I'll have much trouble beating the times just... staying on the damn course lol.
