There is a trophy for maxing one of your driver's career bar, which is different from maxing his level at 40. Even though the trophy is called Air of Experience, there was apparently a translation difference and in English it is the career bar, and not the experience bar.

Also I noticed that if you have a driver shared for the remote race thingy, they won't be able to take part in any non-online races until they are unshared. They also won't gain career bar points

does getting them to 40 stop you from getting career bar points or something though?

I don't know, I retired the one of mine that hit 40 right away, thinking that was what the trophy was for. I do know after your driver reaches 40, he loses his driving skills pretty rapidly and is pretty much useless. Races he used to be able to win with ease, he will lose with ease. Since the hint for that trophy is "Raise the driver to the peak of his career", that's why I figured it was level based.

ahh, I was thinking maybe you meant it was impossible to get once you got one to 40 heh

dude... doing the german touring car championship in that lexus at almost 1400kg after doing all the x challenges feels like going out to nurburgring in a fucking tank

Yeah, switching to anything from an x1 makes it feel sluggish.

Did the Tsukuba 9 hours tonight on a-spec. Took me from the start of 33 to nearly 35, not too bad. I was switching off with a controller and the wheel. Definitely shredded my tires quicker using the wheel for some reason. I had to pit at about half fuel level using the wheel everytime, whereas with the controller I could go a full tank before my tires needed to be changed. No idea what was causing it, either me being better with the wheel and being more aggressive, or the controller steering sensitivity setting that I had on had a part to play with it.

Also finished off 14 gold license tests, only 6 to go, all in IA. After licenses, I'll probably finish off golding the Nurburgring AMG academy events. Hopefully that will take me to 35. Haven't decided if I'll do the 24 hour le mans after that, or try to silver/gold some vettel challenges.

I got my b spec to 35 and got my 2nd X1. I'm assuming when you first get it it's in the same state as the one from the special events, so I just put it up straight online in case anyone wants to practice. I know I was going nuts not being able to actually practice the whole courses without being dq'd heh.

Also have a Toyota 7 up, a nice truck, and a couple other random things, if anyone needs to use em.

Out of curiosity, how many cars do you guys have? I've been buying them on and off the past week or so (usually buying the cars 100k or less out of the dealership, until none are left and waiting for it to restock) and am only at around 520. Going to take forever to get to 1000

Yesterday I was fairly productive: golded the remaining few license tests, golded all of the beginner AMG driving academy stages (will probably do the wet version with this car next, as I'm already used to the car), golded Monza in the vettel challenge (the second chicane is where I made up nearly all of my time, I could pass vettels ghost on the first lap just by how much I cut that turn), and silvered nurburgring for vettel. Still need to improve about a half a second per lap to gold it, pretty sure my issue is the couple of turns past the first checkpoint, I always seem to nip the kerbstone and lose a bit of time. I've been watching a bunch of Stune5's videos on youtube for these, it seems to help quite a bit. Haven't touched Suzuka yet.

lol ive only been buying a few cars from the UCD, should probably start buying more considering im at like 200 and i have 7 mil sitting there... do you guys take TCS off for the vettel challenge? it seems like its helping me shave a few seconds off but im still fucking up a few turns on nurber. but i think after watching a video i found i should be able to gold it now that i know which corners im slowing way too much for like the last chicane.

and i love remote races, ive gone from B spec 14 to 25 without really doing anything but a few races the past few days lol

IIRC I have like 250 right now. Not really worried about my car counts, just picking up stuff here and there that I want to drive - and I've been picking up a lot of cars that I'm leaving stock so I can drive them when I get my Fanatec wheel in this week I have most of the cars I wanted from new dealerships, but I would eventually like to get a few more LMP cars, already have a FGT, and get a GT40 (Gulf Oil Livery) other than that, just stuff that catches my eye.

For the vettel challenges, I've had all aids off, except for the driving line (they are usually pretty inaccurate, but I use it to gauge where I brake instead of physical landmarks) and ABS at 1. I've been trying ABS at 0, and it seems to make me faster in some parts, slower in others. My faster lap at Nurburgring was with 0 ABS. Monza I golded with ABS at 1. And TCS is always off for me, its always made me slower. I've noticed when you put the power down exiting a corner, it takes longer for it to transfer to the wheels than without it off. You don't really need it for the X1, as it understeers way more than it can oversteer. If you're oversteering, you lost traction and TCS wouldn't have helped anyways with how fast it can get away from you.

Edit: And I was about where you guys were with respect to cars before I started to spam purchase them. 1000 is a bit much for the trophy, considering you only get about 150-175 max from challenges/events. I also timed that it takes 45 seconds to purchase a single car from the UCD, from selecting the icon on the home screen, to purchasing a car and being returned to the home screen. Doing that 1000 times will takes 12.5 hours, not counting raising the money to do that in the first place, and refreshing the UCD with new cars.

lol 12 hours just to buy 1000 cars? thats retarded lmao, i should probably start buying the UCD cars if i dont have them then.

and about the X1, i am getting faster times without TCS on but theres 2 corners that no matter how many times i try to go my fastest i either brake too much or i go off the road

I'd say watch those videos by Stune5 on YouTube. He explains the line pretty well, and always has a couple seconds to spare with gold. There's another thread on gtplanet that I can link when I get home that also explains it pretty well. Most of this challenge is getting perfect with the line.

Edit: you can also try turning off ABS, that will help with your braking distances.

Carbon feels best when it's from golding all of the Vettel challenges:
    Spoiler: show

Also moar photos from the Nurburgring rain full lap event:
    Spoiler: show

Got the gold standard trophy after golding the Vettel challenges, even though I have the two 24 hour races in A-spec left. Besides licenses and events, it seems you don't need to gold both a and b-spec, either will do.

i guess thats good to know.. even though im still having trouble even getting silver on any of the vettel challenges, i still cant get the last chicane on nurburgring right with the controller, i either hit the curbstone and cant regain my speed or i just miss the braking spot completely and hit the wall lol, its so hard to be precise with the damn controller, i just need to practice a but more, i almost got the braking down with this car though.

After unlocking the x1 challenge in january, I just finally completed it. I tried a little when I first got lvl 30, then didn't play the game for over a month. Picked it back up wednesday and bronzed monza. Next night I bronzed nurburgring. And now after 4 days I finished suzuka. Suzuka is easily the worst. I've never been so angry at a tv screen. Hats off to you kids that gold those challenges, I need a good break before a try to get gold/silver. Used controller btw.

The new controller steering sensitivity option is supposed to work wonders for the Vettel challenge, for controller users.

And yeah, Suzuka took me the longest to gold as well. I could never get the line on that last chicane right, and it always cost me a few tenths. I had to drive a faster line than most of the tutorial vids I saw just to have enough spare time for the two runs through that chicane.

Been running into an issue with my game randomly freezing at the screen where you win a championship. Been doing the dream car championship to put a dent in both the 1000 cars trophy and the driver experience bar trophy, and I'd say about 10% of the time it freezes before the gold trophy shows up that gives you your winnings. Its pretty frustrating to waste an hour with that series and have to restart and not gain any money out of it.

Yea I used controller sensitivity lvl 3. I could tell a huge difference when I tried it again after that update. All aids off and sensitivity made it way better.

Try skid recovery force as well. I did a 4 hour nurburgring last night with the x1, without SRF, noticed a huge difference in certain sections that are a part of the GP circuit. The biggest change was the last corner before the first checkpoint, it would randomly spin out when I put the power down, and thats without me hitting grass/kerb/etc. It added about 1.5 seconds to the first checkpoint, during the challenge I could do in low 19s, without SRF it jumped to high 20s. If anything it will eliminate some of the seemingly random spinouts that you have with it.

And yeah, Plow, I've been holding off on doing the a-spec 24 hours specifically for that reason lol. I've been waiting for the save implementation feature in the 9/24 hour races, but with all the shit thats going on over there, who knows when that will be.

Same here on aspec endurance races. I've only done the first endurance race and the indy 500. I won't even consider doing 9 and 24 hour ones unless they add save points. I never even finished the formula 1 race series due to its length.
