i know it seems extreme, but try putting the sensitivity to 7, after i started trying with it at 7 ive been able to shaving up to 1 second every time i finish, i still need to get the braking points right but i think i can do it, im down to 2:13x now on nurburgring but shit is seriously hard because of how precise you have to be, you cant hesitate with a corner at all, its all out or nothing lol

Completely unrelated but why does it still take 5 years to load the game after turning the power button on? Even with them taking off that retarded "hay this light means your ps3 will explode if you turn it off lolz" warning, I can still go take a piss, grab a beer, write a thesis, and it still not have the opening screen ready.

4rlz. My main gripe with the game is how it sometimes seems to sit there and do nothing and take f o r e v e r before it starts to load a new screen. Sometimes it would be faster to just restart the game.

The one and very game that my PS3 Fat croaked on. I cannot recall where I stood last I played GT5 on my new PS3 as the game save data was copy-protected on the old PS3 at the time (before they patched that out). Shame, as someone on this forum was spamming my drivers for easy levels which I quite liked to alleviate the race-grind for credits.


The best part though? I can finally use my fucking G27 proper on the game now, which killed my interest in the game initially to begin with due to horrible default button placement. I'll really have to get around to building a wheel stand now as I've changed desks since I last played, and this new one isn't stable enough for it. On that subject, anyone got pre-built recommendations or a blue-print or something? I want a stand I can fold up and tuck away with done, my living space is at a premium.




I cannot tell if this update was meant to be released just shortly after Forza 4 though. The update didn't seem to really adress any of the flack it got aside from the load times a bit. At any rate, the game's retail disc could use an updated version. I doubt new players will be happy with the 8gb install on top of 2gb of patch downloads.

Damn, those are some really nice updates. I'm really excited about the new track at Spa as any huge F1 fan should be. The car pack also looks really nice - the PD tuned cars are always awesome to drive.

I don't have a G25/27, but I'm excited that they listened to the community and got that shit working finally. A lot of people didnt want to buy a new wheel - which is totally understandable since the G27 is still one of the best. I'm happy with my Fanatec wheel though

@Kaisha - check out GTP forums under the 'Sim Racing Hardware' section. Tons of good designs, I'm sure you could find some inspiration to build your own - it's so much cheaper than buying a pre built. I build mine out of wood for about $50 (not including price of wheel obviously)

Also glad to see they fixed the stupid costumes. You can now freely select your helmet/body, and even have the game generate pictures of your driver in set poses to use as a profile icon.

I did a 1:20 first time I posted a valid lap w/ it on suzuka, my controller only friend was qqing, but I tried it and it wasn't that bad.

A little insane but manageable.

I managed 1:24 but I just had to fuck up that last bend and got disqualified. I found I do better with the hood view on controller since I don't have the force feedback to get a better feel of the tires.



Also, these load times are a hell lot more managable now. A real shame it took this long for the game to get to this point. I'm curious if the physics adjustments are to fix the lulzworthy flying/spin-outs you get when you try to go for wild crashes.

I guess GT5 is ez-mode for me from here on in. That just more than doubled the amount of credits I have.

They still didn't address one of the pet peeves I had with this game though, and that's not marking cars in your garage as eligible for a particular race you're trying to enter. On another note, with all the updates and the normal install, my game data file is sitting at a chunky 8.4gb currently.

The standard-car cockpits look fine. No details, just a pitch black interior with mirrors and using the onscreen HUD. Much better than nothing though, and the game feels less 'stripped' with them.

GT nerd forums are saying the physics/suspension are a lot better post-patch, but I havn't had enough time to check properly.

I'll probably download this tomorrow, if my ps3 has enough space. I only really want to do the Nurburgring 24 hours since that's all I really need to 100% the game (and I've been waiting for the in-game saves to do it), and I don't have anything to put my wheel on since I've moved. It'll be fun to drive around Spa though.

What do you think the chance of me copying the tune setups I have for my cars from Forza to my cars in GT5 working is? I spent some time on my cars in Forza cuz I have a friend that likes that, but I'd prefer to play GT5, but I'm not sure if I want to spend a ton of time tuning my cars all over again.
