I also had a very strange encounter with a GM. As I fell down the bridge in Dyna Windy and was trapped down there, the GM told me to walk back to my group, yeah, no problem.

Eh, there should be spots where you can walk out of the water and onto parts of the zone you shouldn't normally be able to walk around in. (Obviously you don't want to have to hunt for them in the middle of Dynamis, though.)

God knows I damn near have the "pool ramps" memorized for Windurst Waters after falling through at a door something like four times in one day thanks to stupid lag.

You're at the wrong spot, OP. 2 spots look similar, I did this mission for my mule recently, and I was sitting at the wrong spot scratching my ass... until I realized it was across the zone, at another drop down.

I've had both good and bad GMs, even when I was dealing with similar situations.

I was dual boxing for a friend for the Tenzen fight in CoP. My one character was there in the event of a wipe (We didn't, but I like having that availability.), and I played my friend's character for the BCNM. After we cleared the BC, it did the typical "Freeze everyone in place" thing. I waited like normal, and saw everyone disappear. My friend's char didn't disappear at all, and remained in the empty BC, frozen in place.

I called GM from my character, explained the story, and he then sent a tell to my friend's character, mentioned that my char called to report him as stuck, and that GM did his magic, it did the zone thing and he was still on the airship, but a couple seconds later he zoned. That was a good GM experience.

I've also had two different friends get hacked, and I called a GM to get their accounts locked. I had both friends on IM so that I could get any info needed from them.

The first friend that got hacked, the GM asked if I had various infos, I told him I had my friend on IM and could ask him any questions. The GM took the info and locked the account, and gave the info on how to get it back.

The second one, the GM said that my friend would have to call from an account of her own, or call SE's customer service line (Which was closed at the time.). She doesn't have a second account. He eventually relented, but it was a bit of begging to do it.

I've also had a GM that I called about an RMT tell I got (Well before they became as prevalent as they are now.). The GM was dull and had bad grammar, I almost thought I was talking to an RMT.

Any other calls were minor things, though I did ask a GM if he wanted me to give info on what I thought an RMT was doing because I had called multiple times for Tarus POSing before they changed that one Selbina quest, and he said that it wasn't necessary.

Also, I agree with the sentiment of dying laughing if the OP was at the wrong ???.

Sorry didn`t have time to check the thread for a few days.
Found out we were at wrong spot. Died laughing when I realized. Should move part of this to Random Fail.
Moral of the story: Smoking too much weed + playing FFXI stoned + helping friends with missions I did 3 years ago = bad.

Also, that GM still sucks.
