just curious, cus fajir prayers is the toughest lol.
yeah it's always tempting to go to sleep after eating and pray fajir once i wake up again, but thus far i've been doing a good job. lol
Man you guys are hardcore.
No wonder they have so many problems getting along.
If I were Sunni, I'd grab a shitload of food, go stand in front of my Shi'a neighbor's house, and start chewing loudly right when sunset hits. Moan about how good the food is, etc.
Suicide bombings would begin in no time flat.
I wouldnt mess with the Shi'as...they scare me![]()
hit themselves till they bleed? wtf?
ashoorah day (yaumo ashoorah) they mourn the death of the hussein, the prophet's grand child by hitting themselves ( il latim اللطم in arabic) some go extremeك hit themselves with sharp objects and chains, most ofcourse would end up bleeding severely.
They were the ones that killed hussein, thats why they "punish" themselves for that mistake.
sometimes, i see them coming out of their mosques on that day, all of them covered in blood. (yes, they have different mosques than sunnis)
lots of videos on the net about it, its scary stuff what they do x.x
well i know what i'll be looking up to make work go by
btw Firas, i'm going to do that 20 pages for 30 days thing
Mr. Firas, what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.
I don't like to antagonize or bash other faiths, denominations, or creeds, so I won't oblige you with a similar response. Rather, "Ashura" is the commemoration of the death if the grandson of the Prophet (Hussein ibn Ali). It is very unfortunate that some do go to extremes, and it is my personal opinion that it is possibly a detriment to the image of Islam, which holds high importance and should be properly respected by all Muslims. Nonetheless, that is my opinion. Differing jurists offer their interpretations regarding the forms of mourning, and for reference, it is the dominant majority that state that "bleeding" is not at all a valid form. Here we have the classic "rotten apple" case.
With regards to "they punish themselves for killing Hussein," that couldn't be further from the truth. His death came at the hands of Yazid, the then-caliph and son of Mu'awiyya, and the stand Hussein and his followers made are often termed as principled stands against Yazid's "corrupt court," which was considered "Islamically-corrupt" by a wide range of standards.
So while I do not condone or advocate the "bleeding" in any way whatsoever, I do ask that you be careful in your rendition of what "Shi'a Islam" really is. Providing some "youtube video" really is not sufficient or adequate evidence, for as I have mentioned, it is the overwhelming minority that engage in such practices, and often is a practice moreso done in the third-world nations, where sometimes it becomes stigmatized with current political conditions and the like.
i'm sorry Tych if i offended you. But I based what i said on books, shiekhs i've asked, lectures i've attended, and videos i've seen.
This is where Shi'a and Sunnis draw the line, my friend. (and in this community, i dont wish to draw any lines between muslims, especially at this holy month)
our references conflict i'm sure you know that. otherwise, different sects in Islam wouldnt exist.
Hey, we are all habibs here. Ya'll arent going to start throwing rocks at each now, are you?
the one year I tried fasting was while I was still swimming and diving for my high school and that turned out to be a disaster. I don't like going to the hospital for dehydration
