Anyone watch the FFXI Live Stream Cam on POL?

Has anyone ever watched it?


When I am bored I like to have it full screen running in the background. The music of different zones is relaxing until it goes by a party. I see people doing funny shit on there sometimes.

I saw a Japanese player's inventory screen and other things as he/she ran around in bastok once. Character names were visible and everything. Must have been one of the devs or a gm playing their NIN. It was during the summer festival I could see in the background as he zoned into his mog. That was the only time it was in player mode before, however. Normally all names are off of the players and npcs and it's just a floating camera.


It has different loops it goes on.
My favs are the Qufim island parties, though it only hangs there for a bit.

I love the pretty forest with the amethyst crystals that line pits of swirling liquid and massive trees that are crowned with mist.

I have never been to the forest but there is an outpost there and it is quite dark. A large purple crystal has an automaton Michelin Man/magic pot shard looking creature by it also. Saw some gobbies and a lanky, couerl type spotted cat there. I guess I should wiki the outposts and find the forest. It would be cool to visit it in the game if my level is high enough.

Ah well, it would be interesting to know the names of these zones and also to see if any one has ever seen their own server on there before.

Right now it is running through some ruined dungeon with deep pits in between broken floor stones. There are sliding doors also. It dead ends to a large snorlax/walrus type creature.

I haven't bene to the POL site in over a year, so idk if they've changed the quality of the 'stream cam' but iirc all it used to show was some vacant area in the middle of sandoria north or wherever

it always seemed like absolutely nothing was going on

the random scenes of stuff actually going on would have been interesting, especially a jp's inventory lol

I've debated starting over again, being a newbie was fun, but I'm pretty torn

levelling all SJ's to 37 over a period of 2 months and then taking all the zilart jobs to 66 or 75, I pretty much experienced all there was to do XP wise

imo ffxi requires a lot more time than I have/desire to put into it; I think for the most part I'd only play to chill with friends and this would be my only motivation for playing 14

I have been absent for a while so playing it gives me the feeling of the game. Like right now the bastok music reminds me of annoying ass rmt getting in my way as I head to craft in the guilds there LOL. Streams well in windows media player.
I need to go in and level my blu and bst. I envy all of those players who can go explore these lush areas I see on the cam. hehe.
I really love doing the moogle tabs quest while simultaneously harvesting or logging in the areas I search for the tabs. I have not tried it on choco yet, that would be odd since the upgrade allowing you to find it on choco. Prices on chocos must skyrocket when the tabs are swept to the wind, I imagine.

I was totally surprised because it looked like a typical you tube vid of someone's gameplay in japanese. Iirc he changed his armor and stood around a bit, wasn't talking in ls or anything and then he zoned into mog. I don't remember seeing him in the mog too long because I cannot remember furniture except for one of those new mob statues I think. Hmm that would not be right because the mob statues did not come before last year's summer fest. I got a ss of it so Ill look for it. I don't know the legalities of posting it though.

blu took a lot of work but I always enjoyed it, I think last I left off mine wasn't yet 50, I would have liked to have whupped the final limit break NPC for blu (purposely not saying the name of the NPC/character for mistress stowastiq's sake, as I'm pretty sure it would be a spoiler)

I remember before that last fight was required, a LS mate was server 1st to blu 75 in about a week and a half or less, spells and all, I'm told coke was involved to stay awake lol


exploring was great too, I remember discovering what magic agro was, the hard way, exploring as 54 WHM in Ro'Maeve lol

tried to find dragon's aery one time but couldn't, ended up dying haha

I remember back when it first came out. I actually enjoyed the W.Ronfaure & Southern San D'Oria music. Lasted like 2 weeks.

I really enjoyed levelling SJs, soloing in funny little places like gigas sheep near tav safehold, gob leeches near zitah OP, worms in shakrami and attohwa etc

of course level sync changes things a lot, I made ridiculous xp levelling my COR from 37-65 in qufim capped to 21ish at 12-24k an hour depending if we hit the sweet spot of jobs, level and mob availability


I think I'd avoid syncing on jobs I didn't hate, or unless skipping horrible levels like 50-54 or 61-63 BST FUUUUUUUUUUU, but I digress

I really like blu, the armor, the storyline and the animations for battle. Mine is like level 8 right now hehe. Also want to do cor.

Meh I can't find the pic of the Japanese player just found a snapshot of his log in screen and it all came back to mind.

I remember it was the first time I had seen the token icon on the log in screen and I was excited seeing the names of the new expansions on the titles. The FFXI version said "GM Version" next to it.
The token had not been released to us yet and we were all waiting for it in the mail so it was exciting to see that. So I do not know what festival it was but the entrances of mogs had decorated trees, it was dated april.

I kind of figured it was an accident that the player mode was showing.

This is so true. I still get to rock out on my BLU at events. Having BLM RDM and BRD screws over my BLU sometimes, since some people arent very flexible with the jobs they have.

FF14 better have BLU.

I loved BLU, I remember I got to come to an event as it only once and it was fucking sea, fighting temperance. Shitsux because I spent a lot of time and money on my BLU and it was pretty decked out, had hofud, homam, af2 and all that shit. Always had to go PLD, RDM or BLM and I was one of the LS leaders

PvP was even more fun. Especially when nobody knew what to do against a BLU. Seeing people run away, only to get killed by a Cannonball was some funny shit.
