Your solos!

Was just wondering what kind of solos people have done and also looking for new ideas at ones to try.
I've done Doomwalker, everything in MC up to Ragnaros (Knockbacks a bitch), The mount bosses in ZG, and everything in Kara up to Maiden.

Not really impressive but I'm trying to find more things that are.

I was looking for a good solo spec, but Prot looked much much better than Retri

Did most of karazhan, this was the hardest boss. Didn't do netherspite/aran/illhoof.

I do all of my soloing as prot, no raid gear, all badge + BoE with epic gems and lifewarding for soloing. Armory Falaras if you want to see the gear. And after logging on this morning and doing Doomwalker -> Garr -> Baron -> Golemagg I was down to 20 durability on my shield. Lots of repairs but the epics and in doomwalkers case straight up gold is really worth it.

Aran has a berserk timer of about 15 minutes, at which he Mirror Images and destroys you.

He only has 600k health according to wowwiki, that's doable in 15min solo easily. I'm tired so could be wrong but it's only like 666 dps, that sounds awfully low though...

Of course, wowwiki says it's a 12min enrage. But still, I can easily dish out over 1500 dps solo, depending on the circumstances it can be up to twice that (a ton more if it's a bunch of targets to sanc and let me consecrate them lol)

It's probably doable but far from trivial, since he has a habit of rooting you, running away, then casting stuff like frostbolt on you. There's also the RNG factor of him chain casting flame wreath and I doubt even at 80 in ulduar gear you can ignore all four elementals.

You can cleanse frostbolt/slow and the water elementals are only supposed to have like 13k health, just run over and smack them with hammer/shield and they're just about dead and move on to the next. Bubble + LoH can help if things get too hairy. And if you're ahead on damage you can switch to seal of light.

I remember soloing Aran (along with all of Karazhan outside of Illhoof and Netherspite, the latter I needed a partner for) in BiS Naxx gear way back in January. Granted DKs have been hit by the nerf bat a couple (lot) of times since then, but I'm sure with Ulduar gear it's more than doable as a blood DK - Death Strike is still lolhealing even after the nerfs.

Then again, I'm not sure how well other classes would be at soloing him in comparison - we have so many get out of jail cards vs Aran that it's sorta lol.

One thing about soloing : do you need Defense for that? Or just useful class skills?

Mostly non resource expensive powerfull self heals really. Plate helps a lot to.

Heroic Auchindoun ...the west area. I got the boss to 5% before wiping to the add/shadow spawn.


Prot with judgement of light worked pretty well (especially with ardent defender) when the boss nerf my healing. Retribution with my prot gear also work well.

The scant few times I did Kara (laaaate in BC, never finished all the way to Prince though :X) I guess he just went down fast or something, cause once we aggroed and got our positions set he pretty much stayed put haha

You'd probably want to go ret to do aran since all his damage is magical.

So far as Blood DK I've solo'd Heroic MGT, and Normal Halls of Stone.
