I'm an EU player whose used Verified by Visa for other things for years now. So I go to setup my NA mule account with this crap and I get an arbitary error on the final VbV submit stage for some odd reason. So even though my card can use this system, I cant use it here without getting an error. /golfclap

Are you using windower? I believe it gives an error if you are running windower when you try to verify or something (I could be wrong, I'm remembering a random post in the initial thread about the VbV thing)

No it won't. I'm in the same boat (no 3D CC support) but being on the PS2 bypasses that. Initially I thought I had received the email but they were older ones for the mini-expansions. Thanks goodness for lolPS2 limitations

I wouldn't be too quick to assume that, however. It's entirely possible that it will become a problem for console users soon, as well. As it is, we thought people whose cards weren't expired would be fine until they did bit the bullet.

My Credit Union made their Mastercard's SecureCode in September 2005.

I've never used it, barely understand what it was for. In fact, the email is the oldest email I have under my personal finance section.

The email links to a site, I'm not sure it much matters, but it helped me verify I was SecureCoded. Unfortunately, it seems like the URL I was given is tied to my specific bank, and their homepage is empty/inaccessible. After an hour on the phone to Wachovia, and no one knowing wtf VbV is, I assume they don't. I spoke to Visa, they say that Western Union offers pre-paid VbV cards. Seems like the best option at the minute.

That's all well and lovely, except for the people who's cards cannot be activated.

It seems like they tried to get people to quit with shitty content and saw how that failed, so they're going with the more direct method of this bullshit to cut the numbers down.

Obviously it's not. I assume the 90% of the italian players use a PostePay and they were all screwed up.

I used PostePay too, until 2nd of August. Then SE suspended my account for "unpaid fees" (the card was fully charged), so I had to buy another card.

Fortunately I've discovered a prepaid one with 3D Secure system. It's extremely rare cause only the normal credit/debit cards have this.

The card is called GiroCard, it's by CartaSì. You can purchase it at CartaSi: Carte di credito per privati e aziende paying with another credit card (PostePay works).

I tried my BoA debit card, and got this message: "At this time, only Bank of America consumer Check Cards (except OR, ID, and WA) are eligible for registration."

Citi is also nowhere to be found on SecureCode's list.

I'm relieved that I didn't get an email, but this is still rediculous.

I have a check card, but I don't get that message (Not at any of those places listed either).

I called again and I can confirm for console users.

Currently they are working on integrating this for console users. Edward, the rep i got wouldn't go into details other then that. He did mention when i asked about switching back to ps2 that if I did change my payment on my ps2 to bypass 3-d, because my card does not support it, come billing time, I would be denied service.

I see it that they have 4 days to patch together a console update for this.
