I clearly stated that L4D did not create the concept, but given the popularity of the game, and the similarity of the poster styles, it definitely could be on purpose

I've never been a huge follower / fan of the zombie genre, but Valve has stated they made the l4d posters based off of older zombie movies that looked just like it.

Its basically two things looking like another thing, not a string of copying, most likely.
