I don't think there was any hype at all >_>

But I'm still gonna go see it even though a high percentage of new movies suck nowadays...mainly b/c my mom likes John Cusack <_<

I don't know which was worse, the godawful movie, or the fucking toddler in the front row screaming his balls off because it was 1:00AM and he wanted to be in the bed instead of some loud ass movie theater.

    Fucking faggots.

Oh c'mon don't so negative. Aside from story, characters... ok, all right! The effects were the only good thing - but HOW good were they ha?

When you say pretty bad....What did you expect out of the movie superior actors with great dialogue?

Ok, I go into R. Emmerich movies with my disbelief suspended. You have to. The yellowstone scene made me hate the rest of the movie. I couldn't take it even a little half seriously after that.

That said, destruction of california was ok. they had a lot of brutal shots of people getting crushed which made it really horrific.

I thoroughly enjoyed it, actually. Story sucked, acting was mediocre at best. The SFX were spectacular, though.

I simply suspended disbelief and went with the entire story. After that, it was pretty good.

    Fuck that shit lol.
As a total side note, Rob Bowman, (director of the X-Files Movies), HATES Independence Day. If you re watch the 1st one, the guy who is peeing in the ally, is peeing on a poster of Independence Day.

Well normally people don't go to see these movies for the deep story or awesome script but for the action. People probably expected more and more after all the action and suspense and were disappointed once it came to an end with a

I like how they always make fun of California in these "end of world/destruction" movies. lol @ the govenator...

    Great effects tho. Pretty accurate too with models of buildings/structures of downtown L.A. ... man I'm seriously fucked if a really huge quake does go down /panic ;~;

The reason this movie sucked 100% complete balls was because it portrayed nothing but pure ignorance. If any of the above that happens in 2012 actually happened there would be absolutely no stability like the movie portrayed. Everyone who saw 2012 is now dumber for watching it.

I had an argument with a friend of a friend about what would actually happen if yellowstone actually erupted. She turned out to be one of the dumbest bitches I've ever met.

That caldera under Yellowstone is quite big. If that goes, Wyoming is done. And the fall out will take out a lot of other states as well. It will probably even get me in Ohio. A friend from my work said the special effects were well done but he agrees with you the rest was blaaa.

The movie was just plain bad. The special effects though were the only good thing about the movie. I do give the writers credit for coming up with something creative as far as the reason as to why stuff was going on :

Solar activity boiling the core of the earth from the inside causing a microwave effect

But there were so many things just out of place and things that just didn't seem right. Then at the end they were like:

After my buddy and I raged for the first hour we decided to just go with the lulz and enjoy ourselves also. We had the people next to us rofl'n too. Our commentary was apparently better than the movie.

I enjoyed this movie a lot. I take all of his movies for exactly what they are, just full on special effects and nothing more.

I dunno about 10k B.C. but the rest of those movies are awesome. Godzilla I have a special place in my heart for.

I went with a friend who got really really high before we went in and he was laughing his ass off the entire time. Yeah, for $10 I'll make the best of a bad movie and laugh at all the hilarity and just enjoy myself.
