It is obviously Grundle and here's why. Following examples of early cryptozoological references in ancient Scandinavian legend, the Grundle is clearly a bridge troll. Based upon phoenetical spelling of "Grundle" it is obvious that the naming of the Grundle was made by early Nordic or Scandinavian ancestors.

Now to further my argument let us examine the physical "Grundle." The Grundle is the area that separates the testicular region from the anal region. Almost as a silent protector, the "Grundle" is able to act as an early warning system should anyone man or woman attempt to make the treacherous journey from said testicular region to the anal region.

In doing so the "Grundle" clearly is being recognized by our Scandinavian ancestors as the "bridge troll" of our nether regions. The testicular region represents the entrance to the bridge, the "Grundle" the troll who will punish any who attempt to pass to the end of the bridge. I, for one, cannot discount these words of wisdom from our ancient ancestors.
