Well, we split up the zones a bunch now but was doing it at least 2-3 times a week for a long time LS wise, on top of my pick up runs, which i was doing every day there wasn't a ls run so I'd personally see it 5-6 times a week myself. And even mine in my pick up runs took a long time to drop post update.

What are you doing ingame if you aren't trying to obtain the best gear for your jobs, nobody will believe you if you use the social angle.

Mostly just helping other people get their shit really. After 4 years, there isn't much drive left to do everything 100% anymore, so I just do what I can and try to enjoy the fights for what they are, regardless of whether or not I benefit. Yea, shitty reasoning etc, but I'm also PFC in Assaults and no one really bothers with them anymore and I don't feel like hassling people with it, not to mention I was SL on my first account and when I borrowed someone's account after I got banned I got back up to SM I think before giving it back. To contrast, I still haven't finished MKdE that I bought like 3 weeks ago for my Galea just because I can't find the drive to get me to finish it.

we all spammed RVB everyday and sometimes we'd even salvage twice a day, and our favor was always SSR. everyone needed everything from there so that was easily around 40% of our total runs. that means every week we kill about 3-4 turtles. sometimes more. and for over 5 months, i didnt see 1 hara-ate EVER drop. Neo's streak was a lot worse, but thats how it was back than. now hara-ates drop like a fuckin' kindred seal off EXP mobs lol. My friend got one for one and her mnk/sam/nin and it aint even lvl 50 yet. i wouldnt be surprised if its as common as ares body now. but i dont mind it really. in fact, i think its cool for you guys. i would rather no one had to put up with the shit we had to.

thats why i suggested to knyght that he pursue it. it doesnt take a year+ to complete any set anymore. he can get it done, in a few months at most.

salvage was weird for us. the expression "when it rain, it pours" could describe our drop rate mentality. when 1 35 dropped, we knew it was gonna be a good week. When nothing dropped, we knew it was gonna be just like everrrry other week.

Eh no offense, but salvage isn't much different. 3 of the zones have the exact same droprate as when you did it, so if you didn't get drops then, you won't get drops now. Also, my luck on Usu body wasn't quite as bad as Neos, but still was like 0/50-60 preupdate, and took another 30 runs post-update. When you look at something like a drop thread on BG, you're only seeing good luck. I think I've seen 2 drings out of the last 4 KBs posted, doesn't mean dring has a 50% droprate.

Also, I would be really surprised if you pulled up your drop records and didn't average 1 per week. Yea, the nature of random numbers is streaks, but if you get 3 in a week, then go 5 weeks with nothing, then get 3 in a week again, then 1 the next week, you averaged 1 per week.

Also, a lot of people write off the drops they dont need...like Marduk body #19...it's still a drop though.

we probably did end up averaging that amount, but the majority certainly didnt come from SSR. i just think that if you spam it as much as we did, its not going to take longer than 5 months is all. i just cant see why. random number generator isnt that bad after the update, but idk. everyone is different.

oh i wasnt basing it on drop threads. some ppl feel the need to update their FFXI life every second im playing Street Fighter or watching a movie. i go based by some of their experience. the group on hades is 5/19. my friend on remora said she got hers 1 month after all their mnks and sams got it. idk kinda weird

We are finally clearing out our list of Ares's legs, which was our version of Neo's Usukane body, but we still have people that need something from SSR.

It wasnt that it took me 250+ runs to get my Usu body that drove me insane. It was people sending me /tells and PMs asking for strats for the 4th floor, then 1 week later sending me "HOLY GOD YES TY FOR THE STRAT WE WENT 1/1 FUCK YAQ!!!!!" -every- fucking time.

JPs also do a lot of shout salvage grp and they don't fail like some NA shout grps.
I think that also helped a lot.

I've decided to try out a Dex build on War. This is what I'm planning to TP in when Aggressor is up. I was wondering if lightning bow+1 would be worth it.

My merits that are relevant to this build are GA8, Crit4, and 3/3/4 begressor/da. I should have plenty of acc to use the Lightning bow at least when agg is up.


With the Zahaks that is 7% guaranteed, but I'm not sure if that affects dex in any way. I still need Askar Head and Askar Hands but there isn't much I can do about those atm, so this is where I'm at.

You just hit cap(117) with that stuff on. Unless you were asking about moving things around. But I don't think that wins out for DoT while staying at crit cap on birds.

How does Crit Hit rate effect shit? Does it lower the amount of dex you need to get to 20% or does it just do nothing if you already have enough dex?

Edit: What I'm really curious about is if Dex or + to Crit hit % is calculated first. For example if I have enough dex to get 13% crit rate on a mob, will the 7%+ I have take me to 20, or is it factored in first and completely useless if you have enough dex to take you above the amount of crit hit % + you have.
