HP gear? Regen (brd can wear TONS../..Orz)? Evasion (I know at base we evade like a brick wall, but can we get better?)?

    Also - S.Mantle vs Umbra? S.Ring vs P.Ring?
    IMO idle sets are split into 3 sections:
    Standard, things you should be wearing in nearly any situation:
    * Regen (how much is up to you)
    * Refresh (/WHM)
    * Fastcast gear (if you don't use spellcast to 'precast' your fastcast)

    PDT, where you are likely to take physical damage
    * Darksteel set
    * Goliard Trews
    * Terra's staff
    * Jelly ring

    MDT, where you are likely to take magic damage:
    * Mermans set
    * Mermans earrings/rings

    So you should wear Standard + most likely damage to make a idle set.

    But unless you are in a low man situation or expect to take heavy damage a full on MDT or PDT set will be overkill. Standard set plus a few items you will be carrying any way (Terra's, Goliard Trews and Umbra) will do most of the time.

    DEF, VIT and evasion will all be pointless.

    Shadow ring is magic, P.ring is physical therefore they depend on what kind of damage you will be taking.

    Umbra > Shadow mantle imo (I like the consistency)

    Against what? On Lolibri if you need the acc you're doing it wrong, on something else you might want the extra acc from Kote, mods for agi are 30% on Slug and 25% on Sidewinder and I don't see that being better than 10 ratt (I can plug it into my spreadsheet if you want to make me )

    Edit: actually on lolibri my excel is showing 15 agi beating 10 ratt <_< anyone else have a SS to plug it into? mine's really confusing (I need to redo the WS portion) so I could be upping the wrong values quite easily

    15 of a 25%/30% mod is going to beat 10 atk/r.atk on a single hit WS always i'm pretty sure.

    Samurai - TP (Carbonara)

    vs.

    Samurai - TP

    Things to keep in mind:

    Wyvern Earring is only used /DRG. Bushinomimi otherwise.

    Food with the second set is typically Yellow Curry Bun.

    These sets are both 6-hits without the use of Tachi: Kaiten, so in situations where it is impractical to use it, neither will lose their 6-hit ability.

    Essentially, it comes down to:

    150 HP, 2 VIT, -3% Weapon Delay

    vs.

    1 STR, 10 Attack, 2% Double Attack

    blah, disappointing as tsuku can't pull close enough ws damage to pull out ahead through quantity.. a few critrate on tsuku as well and it could compare but expecting max dmg, max acc, and critrate on it is absurd, will edit post with #s including ws later
    what if you didnt have mirke body? for those who TP in huab+1, wouldn't it bridge the gap. not so great with the math, but i got better #s for haub with haub+sup vs af/+1+sup vs none (for those abys. earring users). unless i did everything wrong lol

    would end up with haub equaling out the # of hits to 100 with senju by a few decimals
    didn't do the whole dmg math, was just looking at TPswings. since tsu would pull behind full more DW

    [(16.8 x 5) + 15.8] = 99.8

    Kaiten fixes this, but again, I'm keeping in mind that Aftermath will not always be up.

    So long as you get one hit in with aftermath on you'll be fine. First 6 hits will be 16.8 per and then after first cycle you'll always hit at least once with aftermath on for 17.6 tp. 17.6 + (16.8 * 4) + 15.2(tp you get for only rajas and brutal on) = 100

    Things change when you use gekko but.. could just WS in hach feet +1 and tathlum then but that's sacrificing quite a bit for changing from 2% DA to -3% hitrate.

    If my goal is to kill Poroggo Madames with the NM using as few TP moves as possible, does Footwork make sense? DoT goes down, but damage dealt per TP given goes up (right?).

    So "What's Better?" against a Poroggo Madame - Footwork stance or regular stance?

    I meant specifically in the case of using Tachi: Gekko, not when using Kaiten and losing Aftermath in between the next use. Sorry for not clarifying.

    Ah, I see. Well in that case.. I'd say -3% attack speed beats 2%da 10atk and 1str but I don't like seeing carbonara. If you're using gekko it'd be on something that you aren't capped acc on. Just my opinion, I guess, but I'd go with the build that frees up food.

    Current RR set: - FFXIAH.com
    Current KJ set: http://www.ffxiah.com/item_sets.php?id=68763

    edit: oops those were kinda outa date, updated them to reflect what I actually use now lol

    WDs/WDd/WDk is weapon damage with scorp/demon/kabura arrows respectively... if it's really confusing I can make little pictures showing what I edit when I need to etc

    Edit: Intended editting of spreadsheet when I'm not lazy is seperate tabs for each arrow, for a start

    Edit2: I just put in a manual +10 ratt and +15 agi to see different end values for sidewinder, if they're still in there at all I apologize

    Edit:3 Uploaded Attachment instead of a lame Rapidshare

    I'd probably stick with Cuch for both. If your acc is good you can toss on a 2nd STR ring for KJ for more benefit. Also, I'm sure you know already but WS Gorget would be a better choice on both WSes. Also, what race are you? You want to aim for about 117 DEX on RR for birds. Mamools need a fair bit more depending on which.

    use footwork only after a charm, to get back to 100tp as fast as possible ( for shoulder tackles), then cancel it. that's it. If you get more tp per hit, the madamme gets also more tp per hit.

    150 HP, 2 VIT, -3% Weapon Delay

    vs.

    1 STR, 10 Attack, 2% Double Attack
    -3% delay does nothing for your WS and you can't macro grips for WS so there's an obvious reason to prefer Double Attack to -delay. Also, the 10-11 Atk you'd lose may make a difference if you're /DRG anywhere but lolibri. However, I'm fairly sure people have concluded that the pDIF/Hit Rate bonus given to YGK don't apply to double attacks, so any situation where you're just piling on STR for Gekko and not worrying about Acc probably means you won't land the DA. Overall, you're probably slightly better off with -3% Delay, but I'd be shocked if you could 100% consistently parse it that way.

    I'm assuming that you're using this set for, say, TP burning JoL or something. Like, situations where you can't get Kaiten's attack high enough to make it worthwhile so you have to rely on YGK and STR-whore without regards to Acc in order to pump up their mods.

    Don't use Footwork. MNK is already pretty TP efficient thanks to Subtle Blow and frankly it just isn't necessary. The longer the fight is the more likely DoT is to wear during Charm and the more likely you are to have to restart from 100TP.
