Ha. Anyway, a pre-emptive conclusion: for a GKT SAM-heavy DD party Fighter's Roll > Chaos Roll (due to attack hardly mattering for Gekko and SAM WS/TP ratio being high).
I'd agree with that, since SAM is mostly spike damage anyway, and like you said, attack doesn't factor as much into their weapon skills as... say, MNK? But you wouldn't use a MNK in most situations anyway. Also, Double Attack proc'ing more often = more spike damage, especially if your Samurais are all subbing WAR.
You really lack the ACC needed for slugwinder. Keep Skote even over BFG, keep scout's belt over Bucca(Bucca is really only better if you're using a -enmity build; scouts is better for raw damage). Id also consider using Behe(+1) ring over a flame ring. Capping off your ACC will do more for your damage than any single piece of gear can add.
I meant the bolded part... uh I can try and plug it in to my spreadsheet, gimme a sec
Edit: 4STR beats 5AGI/7R.Attack for straight damage
No, it's still better. You should try using Gae Bolg under level sync some time if you still have it, it's ludicrous around level 50 on dragoon.
Edit: Schwarz Lance (Lv60) has the same delay as Gae Bolg (552), but is up against Grand Knight Lance and Dark Mezraq so I never noticed it.
Sorry for the re-post but got pushed back by other posts:
For my current body/leg WS setup of Denali Jacket/Dusk Trousers with Corsair's Frac +1/Commodore Culottes. R.Acc being the same, its basically a difference of 9 R.Att 10 AGI vs. 5 R.Att 8 AGI 3 STR.
THF TA: Hope Torque (AGI5) vs. Love Torque (7skill/attack)? Unsure how much influence attack has on TA. Guessing AGI5 wins due to it being a mod but.. not sure.
For solo TA, Hope Torque is made of win.
Dead horse..
Sam 6-hit w/ 4 acc/14stp/7ws acc Rindo -- dusk hands
vs
Sam 6-hit w/ onimaru -- hachi hands
Also
Sam TP: Chiv / WS: Chiv
vs
Sam TP: Spectacles / WS: Kubira / Bull Neck
(I know sea gorgets..working on it..PCC is pipe dream atm)
Oh, and I see people saying turban is better than askar..why? Askar is basically an ace's helm with slightly less acc..what's the reason people ok the haste4 on aces vs haste 4 on askar? =X
When I merit I am 2boxing WAR and COR 99% of the time and retards still fucking tell me I am wrong for using Fighter's over Chaos when there is no DRK in the PT, how could it possibly be better if you include the increased WS frequency and DoT?
You're never going to be below 6 anyway unless it's a 5 so just average 5 to 12?
Chaos probably wins unless it's GKT SAM-heavy actually. Hrm.
I remember before it was quite as commonly known to have the Cor spin Corsair roll for best Exp/Hr, one of the last parties I had before they fixed the 1:1 Str/Dex shit. Brd + Cor + Rdm, March/March/Haste/Fighter's/Samurai with War, Drk, Sam was a fuckin riot.
I know Chaos may do better, but I prefer Fighter's on War... I can buff my own attack, but I can't push a button to make me hit nearly 50% DA.
(10 base, 5 merits, 5 brutal, 2 pole, 18~24% from good rolls)
there is no reason not to use chaos in merit from my experiences
I'm a fan of chaos + corsairs tbh, as long as the cor isn't /whm. At birds you can't kill too fast anyways, so increasing exp/kill over kill/time is in your best interest
XI Fighter's w/ Haste samba, Hasso, march x2, 20% haste gear (yeah yeah I need to HQ it up), Haste, and Fortitude axe w/ pole grip, brutal, 5/5 DA... that's 76ish% haste, 50% virtue DA, 46% regular DA...
Distribution is then 27% 50% 23% I think? Average 1.83. 5 swings to 100 TP, divided by 1.83 is 2.73 attack rounds on average. These take exactly 2 seconds, so 5.5ish seconds to 100 TP on average. Fucking insane.
