Both, really. If you have STP merits but not the gear to make a 6-hit it's not much different from having the gear, but not the merits. Sacrificing a bit of gear is generally always worth it going to a better x-hit.

Assuming 368.5 acc pre food/dagger(normal eva) and/or 352.5 acc(low eva eg puk) at the mamool ja camp since sirocco is bad vs puk. The food is pizza. Feint merited to max if that helps but i've found recently that brds dont space out lurker/infiltrator/skoffin as much as they should.

Eh, top is good for soloing, depending on how often that stun actually procs. IMO, since Fane baselard is weak as shit off-handed, assuming you have other weapon choices, such as a blau or even pharpe.

Depends on your DDex, Thunder/Rajas is probably the best if you can push the cap, otherwise I'd say Rajas/Iota because you need the ACC on a 4-hit.

PUP needs accuracy bad so definately Hades Sainti + Hollow/Diabolos/etc Earring. At capped Accuracy it would be the Acanthi + Earring.

For a level 62 SAM (weapon choice - wife's leveling the job):

Zanbato or Daihannya? Basically choosing between STR or DMG, not sure which is better. No Soboro atm, so it's one of those two.

Level 62 = Colibris = Polearm but if you don't wanna do that (umad etc) neither is vastly greater than the other and both would do fine til the next available GKT but I would use Daihannya if I had the gil.

You could just sync and use cheap garbage, get a War Bow+1 with whatever arrows are cheaper on your server (Scorp, Wind, Bodkin etc) for the Colibri-phase then get an Obow and finish the job with D.Steel bolts or hell Acid/Holy TP -> DS on WS.

Darksteel Bolts were 5k/99 last I checked, not bad compared to 7k/99 Demon Arrows.

Id say you'll end up somewhere in-between 1-2M depending on what kind of ammo you decide to use.

Edit: If you wanna go hard, use a Gun for every party between 55-70.

Dramatically for EXP, and predominantly for everything else. There are some niche fights where bow will be more beneficial, but they're few and far between.

EDIT: Yeah, acids really bring out the best in crossbow in parties, but Obow's DPS is absurd, even without the defense down.
