I'd love to see this parse data, cause my data has shown acc no acc bonus, cause over course of a lot of parse I tend to cap my jump acc% but I have enough acc on set to cap for exp mobs, while drg I've seen w/uncapped hit rate during tp tend to parse a similar acc% for their jumps.

I just wanted to let all the math geeks that are crunching numbers know that it's bad to compare things by % increase in damage; instead compare by the difference in actual damage. Here's an example.

Let's say someone gives you $10. If you had $10 to begin with, that's a 100% increase! If you had $20, though it would only be a 50% increase. However, you still get ten dollars either way. It's the same with damage.

and i thought i was the only one that realized this, most of the math i see on here recently is garbage, but i don't care to correct.
if you don't want to suck, you have to do it all yourself. parroting forum math has died

Often times the increase is from the same base. Unless you're comparing completely different sets (In which case you wouldn't use increase in DMG), you're often assuming the same sets for both.

For example, if I ask which is better, Aurum body or Zahaks Body for Drakesbane given *Set of equip here*, WS DMG increase is perfectly fine. Why? It's easy:

Set A without Aurum or Zahaks produces X Damage
Set A with Aurum produces X+2X%DMG
Set A with Zahaks produces X+X% DMG

The base is the same, so it's not like your dollar analogy.

    Ok, so, here's a hypothetical.

You're browsing rolanberry, and you see an M.silver 10k cheaper than the going rate. Do you buy it? You then see an O. Bronze piece, again, 10k cheaper than the going rate. Do you buy it?

I would say a vast majority of people bought the Bronze piece, and didn't touch the Silver piece. Wanna know why? 10k isn't 10k, the percentage return on your investment DOES matter.

Anyway, the difference in actual damage depends on the target, but I guarantee you, given ANY base, 10% is always greater than 9%. Which is what all of our math is saying. We are saying that start from a base of not having an item in the slot, item A is an increase of 5% to your damage, item B is an increase in 3% to your damage. Guess what, your base damage can vary, but regardless what it was, those items increased your damage by that much, and no matter what, if you keep your items the same, these percentages will hold true.

It's pretty obvious you have no clue what you are talking about though, we can turn the percentages into "actual numbers" whenever we want, but if you knew any math, you'd know that the relationship between .05A and .03A is the exact same as the relationship between .05 and .03.

no. if you need accuracy, 1 acc will not solve your problems. Divisor is always better.

Didn't you say that people using Ulthalam's Ring over a 5acc ring were dumb (4atk vs 1acc) but Divisor vs Toreador's (3atk vs 1acc) places the attack option in first place?

Probably Scout's Socks for TP, Skadi's Jambeaux for WS, unless you're using other Hachiryu pieces and need the Store TP for an X-hit build. Depends what you're fighting though, if you need the R.Acc then TP in Skadi.

Wrong person. The only mention I've made of rings was that people bashing Iota Ring were silly.

Galea with 4 str, 15 weap skill acc, 4 agi, weapon skill dmg +2% VS. Heca Head for DRK Spinning Slash, assuming acc is capped?

    Thanks in advance.

Pretty sure he was talking to pchan's friend.

The correct answer is Toreador if acc is uncapped. Mdkuser's point is that if you're sitting at 85 acc and using meat, you should be using pizza, which will cap your accuracy making the attack better.

In any case, 1 acc is better than 3 attack in all situations where you aren't capped accuracy. If you have other locations where you can cap accuracy, however, gaining 3 attack for a 1 accuracy loss is a pretty nice trade off.

So that's what, 7str vs 2% ws dmg?

Assuming you are fSTR capped (you are on almost everything if you're in str gear), 7str is only 1.7 base damage. If somehow you aren't fSTR capped, its double that.

Assuming best case scenario for Heca cap with fSTR capped, it's actually 2 dmg (your str works out perfectly). For 2 base dmg to be better than 2% damage, you need to have your dmg value to be <100. Thats basically impossible.

If you aren't fSTR capped, then well, it's gonna depends on the rest of your gear potentially. It seems unlikely you wouldnt be fSTR capped on merit/limbus/dynamis/etc level mobs. Maybe on hnm/gods you're not fSTR capped? I really dunno their vit #s. If you are <=124 str pre head-slot, then Heca should win out on birds/etc even. >135 str pre head slot hits the above paragraph (caped fSTR before heca).

I don't feel like listing all the conditionals/etc. If you want an exact answer, need to know your STR and INT in your WS set without your head slot.

TP: Hachiryu if you need the STP > Scouts with capped Racc > Skadi without capped racc > Scouts Without capped Racc > Skadi with capped Racc > Hachi

    WS: Hachiryu(Remember AGI+10 = Racc+5) > Skadi > Scout's

This is sufficient information for a response, thank you. I only use DRK for dynamis mobs, for HNM I'd rather use SAM if I'm melee.

So 10AGI will outperform 3STR or 10 RATT for Slugwinder? This was mostly what I was curious about. I was pretty sure on Hachiryu (if need STP) > Scout's > Skadi for TP phase, depending on Racc, but really unsure on WS.

    Sidewinder : Mods : STR+16% AGI+25%
    Slug Shot : Mods : STR+0% AGI+30%

However adding STR has a massive effect on Slug Shot, despite the lack of a STR mod. Therefore I was unsure on which would perform best on WS.

    Should have trusted the Jim.
