I noticed in the relic thread someone called a WAR out for using Fortitude Torque with a relic weapon, but I'm a little confused. Are sea gorgets not worth the effort? Or is it just that person who builds a relic should have allocated money to get an Ancient Torque?

Unless your accuracy is capped, Peacock Charm is better than Fortitude Torque(which subsequently applies to most other torques). The only exceptions are Hope and Love Torque, but Ancient Torque is still better than the latter.

Makes sense, thanks. I just made a quick look and didn't find anything, but is there a list anywhere of known evasion values for enemies to weigh certain gear choices so I just plug them into ffxicalc?

Going back to the Triton v. Perdu Sickle discussion from last page..

Since I can't make too much sense out of evileden's sTP calculator after it changed, how much sTP total needed for 513 delay 5-hit? I'm guessing too much to make use of it on anything meaningful, or Mamool Ja meripo for that matter.

Follow-up Q regarding Triton's 513 delay-- Sword Strap is a straight 3% reduction from weapon delay? Making it 498 delay and faster than Perdu? I'm pretty sure it's straight-forward enough but just being cautious, SE loves their surprises.

http://www.mattrocks.net/matt/ffxi/o...in%20merit.txt is the only one I know of. It's all merit targets though.

25 Store TP worn fulltime is a 5-hit with 2 extra hits of Guillotine, 27 for only one more hit, 28 for a true 5-hit. Rajas Ring, Aurum Cuirass, Rose Strap, Brutal Earring, White Tathlum, Spaghetti Carbonara is 25.

I believe it's a straight 3% reduction with the corresponding loss of TP per hit, yes.

Was confused by that as well since I was under the impression that using a torque with a 2 handed relic was more than okay. Also didn't understand what was wrong with wearing Brutal and Assault Earrings

    To paraphrase Shinryuu:

PCC/PCA/AT > Fortitude Torque when you're getting the full benefit of the former's ACC
Kubira Beads > Fortitude Torque when ACC is capped
Fortitude Torque > others in between the two unless you're doing a crit build with Ancient Torque

So Fortitude Torque wins if your ACC is around 92% before the neck slot. I didn't get the Assault Earring thing either though, I guess Triumph would be preferable in many situations since you wouldn't need the ACC.

Torques however, aren't bad with a relic. It's generally a pretty good acc:attk tradeoff. They are one of the most overrated pieces for non-relic DDs, however. They also aren't bad with Pizza I guess, though.

What's better for m kris DRK zerg, Blitz or Bloodbead ring? Would have 1661 HP with out Bloodbead and 20% haste with out Blitz.

Problem with TPing in Kubira with a Bravura is the +5% damage taken. It's not always a problem but it's like TPing in Onyx cuisses. When it IS a problem it's a HUGE problem.

Fair enough, I remember reading you've been tanking a fair bit even without Bravura. So you'd rate Fortitude Torque above Kubira Beads for the fact that it doesn't increase damage taken, at least situationally?

Well, when these issues are discussed it's primarily in merit situations and I can say that without a doubt I would not use it there.

    Hasso + retaliation ftw.

Aside from that it's shit's situational.

Like someone mentioned, Kubira beads. 1 fSTR even for a high DMG twohander is around 1% more TP damage, whereas the leftover 4 attack torque gets is less.

Kubira gives 3 ACC vs. torque's 6.3 (usually a straight 6), so there is a 1.5% hitrate gap (probably less, the STR wins over ACC when it's very little ACC) where Fort could win, and the same goes for PCC (or even Ancient... and I'd expect a relic holder to have the means to acquire one). Basically, in silly drawings, imagine an elevator with two very fat guys and a really thin old lady in-between. Lady's the torque.

    <<<<<-----PCC/Ancient/PCA-----[trq]-----Kubira and even Spike necklace----->>>>>

X-axis is hitrate. Yes, torques don't even have enough room there to spell the word properly, let alone be a good choice in your average FFXI situation. I'd take 1 inventory over the small, small probability torque is ever marginally better.

As for Kubira's damage taken: buy your mage a roundel or so.

Actually the correct answer is Vicious Mufflers

For Tier IV: Vicious > Yigit > Goliard

when using JSE ring Yigit and Vicious go back and forth depending on other gear you're nuking with (Ugga and Novio) but Vicious still wins most of the time.

For Teir III: Yigit > Vicious > Goliard

That's data based on a Taru nuking a flan with full merits and a "decent" nuking set.

    EDIT*

Shit I just noticed your edit. Are you trying to say you're not interested in BLM but RDM or SCH? If SCH's the case idk. If it's RDM, I'm sure it's Goliard > Yigit.

Guess I'll leave the data up for BLMs.

We are arguing the fact of which is obviously better, we were having a discussion in the LS but we can't get to the bottom.

    Turban
    SE Body
    Homam 3/5
Swift Belt (With the option of Haste Belt)
HP Rings (With the Blitz Ring option)
    HP Earrings
    Some HP +10 Ammo
    Mercurial Kris
    Shield arguement
    Gigant Mantle

One question we are trying to resolve is with:

    Haste Spell
    SV Marches
    Haste Samba

    Is haste capped?

    We concluded that with the mercurial kris's 192 Delay we multiplied .75 * 192 - 192

    Getting 48 delay

With the Wyvern Targe we got

    .76 * 192 - 192

    Getting 46.08 delay

    _____________

Obviously getting the Wyvern Targe a better result, for you professional DRKs how to maximize DMG?

Another question is, is the gear cap 25% or 26%? One of my members is arguing that haste is measured in .9% Haste = 1 haste resulting in 26% Haste being the haste cap.

Thank you for reading this and answering the questions, I hope there isn't many trolls.

Assuming tp ace's unless full usukane, or solo. Or Turban if weaker stuff.
If penta ace if uncapped acc, and askar if closed to cap.

No, your attack speed is not capped. Wyvern Targe, Wyvern Earring, Blitz Ring, and Dusk Gloves +1 would be required to hit your maximum(although ideally you'd use Velocious/Speed/Sonic Belt and use the HP+30-something shield and Bloodbead Ring, but I understand that's not practical for everyone). And yes, maximizing your haste will ultimately equate to maximizing your damage, so its a warranted trade in place of HP+ options.

And your LS friend is partially corrected; the haste listed on most equipment isn't completely accurate(most are slightly less, one or two are slightly more), making 26% listed-haste required to hit the actual cap.

Askar is only for low-Haste situations with uncapped Accuracy when you have neither Usukane nor Ace's and soloing if you want a bit of defense in the slot. Ace's is your uncapped ACC TP head of choice. Usukane Somen with the full set or in an EVA set, or as a stand-in for Ace's in uncapped ACC situations. The unspoken Turban for ACC-capped situations.

Lordgenbu: Haste from gear caps at 25% but requires 26% added up in gear to achieve said 25% due to the amount on most pieces being fractionally less than advertised.

43.75% spell (capped) + 10% JA + 23% gear (Wyvern Earring!) = 76.75% Haste, you are not capped on total Haste. Wyvern Targe will bring the total to ~76.75% Haste.
