I'd suggest swimming if you have access to a pool where you can swim laps regularly. Builds muscle, great cardio and is a full body work out.

protip: power walking burns more calories than running
if your only goal is to be healthier and you're limited on free time. Watch what you eat and run 30 minutes 3-4 times a week, an hour is overkill unless you're training for something/trying to lose a lot of weight. The people in the thread telling you about great ab workouts are idiots, or just didn't read your post. Sure, a strong core is nice and helpful for a bunch of things and will be helpful in preventing back injuries from all the heavy lifting you do as an IT professional. For overall health however, cardiovascular training is your best option and while walking can be great if you're looking to drop a couple pounds, you're unlikely to be working at a maximum heart rate percentage high enough to see any real cardiovascular benefits.
You should probably know by now not to listen to anyone from Texas, but this is only true if you're walking at speeds over 5Mph, and good luck with that. It IS true that walking burns a higher percentage of calories from fat. However keep in mind that the total number of calories burnt running will generally be higher therefore usually making it a moot point. Beyond that the greatest benefit to yourself from cardio is not the fat loss as much as strengthening your cardiovascular system. That being said, if you do find yourself fairly out of shape a combination of run/walking is your best bet until you're comfortable running your entire workout.
he was asking on how to lose "fat" power walking, especially on a treadmill with the incline cranked up, is one of the best ways to go about doing it. also if your going to be using a treadmill make sure the incline is always on at least 2, alot better on your knees.
Best route to go is get a gym membership somewhere and do some weightlifting. that incinerates fat
Running on a treadmill is easy on your knees period. At least a hell of a lot easier than road running. I do all my tempos and most of my speed workouts on a treadmill. Doing an incline on a treadmill and actually jogging it is an unbelievable workout, and it's safer from an injury prevention standpoint. You don't have to always set it on 2% though, a treadmill is inherently soft.
I wouldn't recommend any intervals or fartleks before you build at least some base mileage, or you'll risk injury.
To be completely honest, take Null's advice and bike to save yourself from getting hurt. An elliptical machine works really well too.
Ok i'll go alittle more on details because some people talking about 2 things hehe.
1) I don't have money to invest atm i live at my parents and my primary goal is to move around febuary so i really wanna save as much as i can.
2) My Pool is pretty small it'S a normal gay familly pool, so i can't really do laps in it.
3) This town is gay, if i go to city pool it's like really pricy for me.
4) Like i said my Primary goal is to get in shape and if possible make me loose some fat. But getting in shape is top priority.
PS I noted some of your exemples and Thx for those
So then it basically comes down to jogging or a bike since we can get the assumption you have one. At which point, do whichever like you more. Do both to mix it up even. Enjoying the workout is a HELL of a lot more important than minor improvement.
if you had a choice between 1 hour of running/biking, or 30 mins running/biking and 30 mins core/bodyweight exercises I would definitely pick the latter.
I think drinking semen is best for female health, thats what I tell my friends wife whom i am fucking
Swimming and Biking are more enjoyable, for me at least, than jogging. I don't mind walking as much, but definately enjoy it more than running![]()
You don't have a YMCA in your area?
I don't have one in my area but one is about a 20 minute drive from me. 47 bucks a month is not that much. If you use it everyday
If you are into running/swimming/cycling, focus on one and use the other two as supplements.
Also, with the power walking burns more fat, you could also say lifting weight burns more fat. It is all about keeping your BPM high for a long time.
Running is simple and fairly effective. If you can find dirt/grass areas to run on to save your legs, it really makes a huge difference.
I think i got this link from a previous "Help me get in shape, BG!" thread.
Ever try the Prison Workout?
even if you're stuck with roads, get off the sidewalks and run in the road, asphalt is nice and squishy, not to mention at starter levels, runnning is not going to reek havok upon your joints, sometimes serif and tyche forget that not everyone is training for a marathon or three.
Play DDR/ITG excessively (with full body motion, NOT how the people who do the best on songs play), it works wonders.
