After a short email back and forth with gamestop I was able to cancel my preorder. I think I'm going to go with Steam now.

What was your reasoning in the email? Just said there was a better deal elsewhere? Or just dissatisfied with the game?

Most likely because he preordered before they placed the disclaimer that you cannot cancel your preorder once you receive your beta key so he did not agree to that.

Why cancel your preorder? From my understanding this 10dollar upgrade will just mark your account. So there is no need to actually order from NCsoft themselves. Kind of the way WoW's CE pets work, its just a code you put in on your account info and it unlocks the items for your character.


That's my understanding at least, correct me if im wrong, because i'll go cancel my gamestop order too ;P

Gamestop is 79.99. Steam is 59.99.

Steam download is fast. Downloaded the beta client in about an hour. Sucks I already had it downloaded from NCsoft and it took a day.

I walked into gamestop said, "can I have an aion beta code?" they gave me it and I didn't have to preorder anything, so that not being able to cancel is retarded.

lol, that's GameStop for you. I took another beta code for a friend last time I was at work, we'll give promotional items out if you ask for them nicely usually XD
