We have our leagues set so 1-39 yard FG = 3 40-49 = 4 50+ = 5 points. Missed field goals are -3, -4, and -5. So in the end it kind of balances out.

I'm in a keeper league & can keep either Jonathan Stewart with my 5th round pick or Tim Hightower with my 10th round. I had been leaning towards stewart, but he's been missing a lot of practices & pre-season games due to an achilles injury (not much info out on it...). Hightower's probably gonna be pressed for starting duties from beanie wells...
My other keeper is eddy royal in the 15th round. (We trade up 2 rounds from where they were drafted the prior year, and can't keep 2 of the same position or anyone drafted round 5 or earlier).
I would lean towards Stewart personally. But the attraction of having Hightower is that the Cards really don't have a bonafide number one back. So you're taking either a proven commodity that shares carries(Stewart) or an unproven rookie in a situation where there really isn't another back to share carries with. Hightower is a bit of a question mark. If you're picking based on sheer potential I would probably go with him. If you're picking based on past results, it's Stewart all the way.
i would go with royal fo sho
JStew is doing fine really. They're just playing it safe. Something that might interest you as well is that they've been planning on running more of a 50/50 or 40/60 split on carries between Stew and Williams.
Remember, they were the best RB tandem in the NFL last year, and that was his rookie year.
The monkey wrench in this is Goodson. We found something special in picking him up, and I'd put money on CAR going to more of a three-headed monster this season. He's just a totally different back. He's pure speed. So then you have Stew as your power runner, Williams is the hybrid with explosive playmaking ability, and Goodson for ankle breaking speed.
You can check out the day to day updates on JStew here: The Official Site of the Carolina Panthers
jstew is useless
Royal in the 15th round seems easy to me. Stewart is good but the 5th round isn't that much of a steal for him I don't think. Compare that with Royal, likely to be the Broncos #1 WR, and judging by the Broncos defense last year they'll prolly be behind in quite a few games and need to throw to catch up.
And they'll have the power of the Neckbeard!
My QBs are.. Matt Hasselbeck and Jason Campbell
Available free agent QBs are:
Shaun Hill
Joe Flacco
Chad Pennington
Matt Cassel
Mark Sanchez
Brady Quinn (and Derek Anderson)
Kyle Orton
Think its wise to drop one of mine to pick up one of those? Also contemplating just dropping one of my WRs, Michael Jenkins, for one. Thinking maybe Sanchez or Flacco given their recent pre-season showings.
Rest of my time is (1QB, 2RB, 2WR, 1TE, 1WR/RB, 1DEF, 1PK):
RB - LaDainian Tomlinson, Ryan Grant, Ronnie Brown, Donald Brown, Glen Coffee
WR - Wes Welker, Braylon Edwards, Anthony Gonzalez, Michael Jenkins
TE - Greg Olsen
DEF - New York Giants
PK - John Kasay
Think I actually got a solid team this year, wondering what your guy's thoughts are.
QB: Tom Brady
WR: Randy Moss
WR: Vincent Jackson
RB: Marion Barber
RB: Ronnie Brown
TE: Dallas Clark
W/R: Le'Ron McClain
K: Stephen Gostkowski
Defense: Tennesee
Bench is Ray Rice, Pennington, Scheffler, Isaac Bruce, Peyton Hillis, Devry Henderson, Joe Nedney, and Chicago Defense.
I hate marion barber and mcclain this year, but that team is really solid. I'm not a big Ronnie Brown fan either for fantasy purposes, but he's in a contract year and supposedly as healthy as ever. Could be a good season.
Bench McClain and start Rice in that W/R spot.
mcclain is a waste of a roster spot![]()
I was going to say drop, but I might've been seen as racist.
he should drop him and pick up james davis fo sho. any league where someone is drafting mcclain means davis is still out there
Still haven't been able to make a big move for a great WR in one of my fantasy leagues. I'm debating who to start for week 1 though.
Starting 2 of these guys: Santana Moss, Lee Evans, Devin Hester, Steve Breaston. Also have Nate Burleson, Kevin Curtis, and Mark Clayton. Right now I'm leaning towards Moss and Hester.
you should start lee evans just cuz TO will see all the double teams. jesus christ how are your receivers so bad? did you go RB RB RB RB QB in your draft?
No I had 9th overall in a 12 man league...went RB RB QB and by the time I got around to trying to snag a WR the best one out there was Santana Moss. This draft was screwy, pretty WR heavy people...it threw me off. I have a better team in my 14 man league and I had less options (but a better pick).
And I'm worried about starting Evans cause Edwards sucks. Plus I get points for Hester if he plays on special teams. Another thing it's coming down to is Edwards/Evans vs the Patriots secondary or Cutler/Hester vs Green Bays.
Drop McClain, he's moving back to Fullback full time. So unless there's injuries he's not going to touch the ball that often.
Pierre Thomas is still limping around and probably not going to play Sunday. I need 2 RBs between Kevin Smith, Reggie Bush, and Brandon Jacobs. I'm actually thinking about benching Jacobs beings the defense he's facing is really stout.
