Fantasy Football 2009: Start 'Em, Sit 'Em, Trade 'Em

How is that a dilemma at TE? Seriously, wtf? Gonzalez no question. He's consistent as hell on yardage and TDs, not to mention he's had at least 3 TDs taken away via PI. He's Ryan's favorite red zone target.

On the flip side, Daniels had a career game. Don't expect him to pop out 2 TDs again. He's got 14 TDs in his entire career. Yes, he is getting more targets than he has in the past, but I think it's a little bit early to start him over someone like Gonzalez who's Ryan's favorite red zone target and arguably one of the most athletic TEs in the league.

The only reason I'm having any kind of issue with this is the fact that I'm in a PPR league, and the last two weeks Owens has been racking up receptions. I keep telling myself Gonzalez is the no-doubt starter, but it is now getting a little hard to ignore how often the ball is going Owens way now.

If it helps you out any, Gonzalez has been projected in the top 3 for week 7 on nearly every single site I've checked out, often being ranked #1.

Yeah it does, more than anything, I was going to pick some brains around here and see if someone was just seeing something else I wasn't in regards to Daniels. It's just too hard to bench Gonzalez personally, but the temptation is definitely there.

Took a look at TE production against DAL and they've been pretty weak there. They've given up 2 TDs in 5 games to below average TEs and allowed significant production from some pretty crappy QB-TE combos that didn't have a good ground game to support them (NYG being the exception). ATL has Turner as well as White to take some pressure off Tony G.

Ryan and Gonzalez should light them up.

I wouldn't even think about S Jackson.

I would say Bradshaw since he has been tearing it up the last few weeks but I think Maroney will get a TD at least against the Bucs.

I'm leaning toward no, since I have a pretty decent TE already in Celek and Rice has been tearing it up. But it's tempting since I'd be getting a quality RB and TE for only a quality RB and a DL. For reference, my other RBs are Brian Westbrook and Ryan Grant.

As for my other league, which 2 RB do you start?

Aaron Rodgers vs. Matt Schaub

but green bay's o line is swiss cheese so prob only a matter of time till rodger's is hurt too.

anyway, play rodgers, like 45% of the browns have the flu and their best CB was just in a car accident last night

Heh, I have both of those guys as well. Playing Rodgers this week for the reasons Ty stated... not to mention it's the lolBrowns.

And yeah I've been tinkering with the idea of using Schaub to get a stud RB... problem is that in this league absolutely no one seems to want to trade any of their "top" RBs.

Schaub for Rice? Unless the guy is seriously hurting at QB, I probably wouldn't go with it either. Rice ftw.

@deft: I'd agree and say Bradshaw for sure as well. He's really emerging as the #1 over Jacobs this year stat wise due to his playmaking ability.

@Serif: I would lean towards Celek. Davis has been looking great, but I see PHI coming out pissed off and playing strong against a crappy team. I'd still put it at about a 55%/45% decision though.

@tyven: I think I'd go with Thomas/Boldin to be honest. None of those are great match up wise, lol. Manningham has a healthy Nicks in the mix to steal yrds and TDs now. Williams/Austin too inconsistent to give any real consideration. Cotchery has to deal with a very iffy QB as well as coming off a hamstring injury, which is one of those injuries that can flare back up. So you're kind of stuck with Boldin and Thomas by default. Boldin is a trooper, so I think he'll still put up some good numbers even dealing with that sprain, plus he's more of a possession receiver to begin with. Brees will open up the ground game for Thomas, but with MIA owning the clock his numbers will probably be pretty average.

@Quixon: Davis all day. He's going to put up good yardage as he plays a key role in SF's ability to move down the field. Shiancoe yardage is usually crap, but the TDs he's gotten have given him legit numbers in FF. For him you have to hope he gets a TD or two to put numbers up, whereas you know Davis will get yrds and potentially TDs as well.

@Tetrarian: Keep Rice. Period.

@Welt: Could flip a coin on that one. Both are facing teams that are pretty crappy against the pass. I think I'd lean towards Schaub though since SF is pretty strong against the run (7th). CLE is 30th against the run, so I could see Grant having a big day and stealing numbers from Rodgers.
