Fantasy Football 2009: Start 'Em, Sit 'Em, Trade 'Em

I'm fine either way though - if it goes through or not. But it was a trade that Akiyama was middlemanning, so three sets of eyes were on it. Aki, if you veto, you're a dick too.


PS: I don't really mind keeping LT - I'm 5-2 with Campbell/Sanchez running the show.

Honestly, I thought he could use the help moreso at RB (He had Julius Jones and Derrick Ward for most of the weeks) than at QB. I figured if he got serviceable QB (which Campbell's been for the most part) then it'd be okay. Ah well. That's the curse of 20-man. It's hard to find worthy talent to trade for.

If QBs don't score squat, why is Palmer the pts leader on my team? Why is Campbell the pts leader on your team? Why is Brees Tigers pts leader? Why are you trading 2 QBs for 1?

You're right. It's even worse. Buckhalter has about 10 MORE pts than LT and Brees has about 45 more pts than Campbell.

It's my fault really. I was the one middlemanning it as I thought a semi-consistent (hopefully) RB in LT (who I do think could turn it around) would be better than Brees+no one at RB. So yeah, that's probably my fault for being an idiot. D:

Bush is projected about 30-40yrds vs Jones 80-90yrds + TD for this week alone. Not to mention Bush is only getting work b/c McFadden is out, and he's still behind Fargas production wise. This past weekend Bush went 25yrds on 8 carries vs Fargas' 67yrds on 8 carries. Just something to think about.

He got Shonn Greene and he was actually going to help me out and give me Julius Jones for Bush (trash I know) so I'd have a semi-starter and then he was going to go with Greene/LT.

Ok, something that's been bugging me for the majority of the fantasy season has been my somewhat lackluster RB situation. I've been trying to make a trade to nab another stud RB, but so far nothing's worked. Now I'm questioning whether I even need/should make a move.

Background: League uses a RB, RB, RB/WR, WR, WR, WR format.

My usual starters are S.Jackson, P.Thomas, R.Moss, G.Jennings, R.White, and H.Ward. On my bench for these positions are N.Burleson, E.Bennett, L.Maroney, L.McCoy, M.Bell, and S.Greene.

So basically I have 2 clear starters (1 that hasn't found the endzone yet, the other that is seemingly losing playing time and goal line duties), and then a bunch of backups and/or lackluster options.

I've been fine so far (1st in the league) thanks to my stacked WRs, but I'd really like to grab another solid option at RB if possible. Especially true considering Jackson has his BYE next week, meaning I'd be looking at starting probably Thomas and Maroney.

So long story short: should I pursue a trade, or do you think I should be fine the rest of the season. I just threw some offers out to one team, for example me giving Schaub and McCoy for Slaton or something like that.

Who should I start in my flex spot:

Joseph Addai vs SF
Ricky Williams vs Jets
Lee Evans vs Houston
Housh vs Dallas

SF's run defense started strong, but has allowed big games to opposing RBs their last 2 games (Turner and Slaton) and Addai splits carries with Brown. Williams has just been consistent all year, but goes against a good Jets defense. Evans started off terrible, but has a touchdown in each game since Fitzpatrick took over at QB. And, for Housh, I expect Seattle to be behind in that game and will abandon the running game (not that they really have one anyways) and go pass crazy.

I would like to state that I do not approve of what appears to be blatant talent dropping by a team in bad shape. We're not jockeying for draft position here.

I'm not going to do anything more than vote against trades I don't approve of atm, but please don't get shit ridiculous to where I have to.

Aye, it's just that I've come to expect absolute shit from Maroney. Not to mention never knowing which RB (when they're all healthy) the Pats will feature the most in any given game. I don't have much of a problem using him now, I'm just worried about later on once Morris and possibly Taylor return.

Gimpers, I think I'd go with either Williams or Housh.
