Nawlins plays lots of blitz packages, which means that stafford is going to need a dump off safety valve. Smith catches a lot of balls out of the backfield, so I expect him to have 5-7 catches this week for 45-50 yards. He'll probably rush for another 70 or 80. If he scores at least once, I think he'll outproduce jacobs.

tyven actually stopped trollin' and said something moderately smart. The problem with starting Smith is after what the Saints did to the Raiders, I don't think the Lions will be able to hang with them at all. He'll get 15 touches, maybe a TD, but I just don't see a big week... whereas Jacobs can just go off on anyone (including big games vs WAS, PHI, BAL, and CAR last season).

How do you think they are going to slow down that new orleans offense in the first half? It's going to be a lot of runs and short passes. He'll have 12+ touches in the first half.

Definitely deep at running back. My 4th RB led the NFL in all purpose yards.

edit: i will help you out. last year he went 7 for 109 with a touch against them. he also scored 3 tds in the first 2 weeks of the season. you have about a half an hour to put him in.
