So I vetoed a trade in the 2QB league between:

3rd Place @ 7-3
and
8th Place @ 4-6

There's virtually no chance of 8th place to make the playoffs at this point -- three teams stand at 6-4 and only 4 teams make the playoffs.

The trade vetoed was:

3rd Place gives Beanie Wells & Devin Hester
8th Place gives Matt Forte

Now I'm getting unnecessary shit from the 3rd place owner for not letting him have Forte. It's a highscoring league and PPR, and Forte is faring better than in other leagues (he's RB13), not to mention his draft position. Hester is WR20 and Wells is RB39.

The 8th Place team doesn't get ANYTHING to improve its playoff chances, which would in some sense legitimize the trade, and the team on the cusp of a playoff berth gets a 1st round pick? I stand by my veto, but i would like your opinions -- would any of you trade Forte away for Hester and Wells, or even allow it in this situation?

EDIT: PS, the team giving up Forte has the current RB stable: Forte, McCoy, McFadden, Tashard Choice, Justin Forsett. Now take Forte out of the mix. Bull, shit.

Hester himself doesn't sound like an improvement, but the fact that he's putting up the same exact numbers as Donald Driver (133 points or so), and yeah. And you've been an absolutely lousy GM this year. Sure it's a lot of leagues, but you don't seem to pop up or anything unless the situation somehow benefits you. I don't like that man.

Edit: and I know it makes me look all selfish and shit, or pissed (which I am) about the situation, but yeah. Normally, I'm liking all of the activeness and all, but how many people in that league are even active? Tyr, me, Rec, Colm.. well maybe the top 4-5 teams? I dunno, it's just annoying me. D:

You've got to be shitting me, right? How are you trying to justify this? I'm hoping you'll come to your senses and won't become something everyone in fantasy-land hates, namely, a league buster, but that's your prerogative.

It doesn't help your case that:
A) You're a shoe-in for the playoffs
B) He's definitely not making it
C) He has NO RBs outside of Forte that are legitimate threats, maybe McCoy, but even then, look at his stable...
D) This trade does worsens his team drastically, and so in no way helps his very-slim playoff chances.


Sorry, I'm not going to play into childish threats, or allow bullcrap trades on the cusp of the playoffs.

1) I'm not a shoe-in for the playoffs. I could lose a couple games and be pushed out. I'm only in 3rd place. It's not like I'm 10-0 and scoring 200 points more.

He has no WRs. I personally thought Hester was an upgrade, and he'd be buying into Beanie on a high, which if you look at his past couple games, and his upcoming games.. you could make an argument that he'd be a Top 15 back.

He wasn't making it before this anyway. So, you are saying that trades with teams who are out of it just aren't allowed? Shouldn't that have been mentioned at the start of the year? Yeah, I guess I should make a trade with someone else who's Top 4 in the league. I'm sure they'll want to help out their competition!

I know it's not really serious, lolsarcasmetc, but I just hate the way it was handled. Sure it was vetoed, but did it have to be vetoed so close to the trade deadline? Couldn't it have been vetoed the day of or the day after the trade was confirmed by both sides?

I've given you a sufficient explanation for a veto. I don't care to bring the PMs received into this, I have no intention of damaging your stance in that respect. Plus, you seem to be doing a fine job on your own.

Why do you think so many leagues have a trade deadline? So there isn't crap where, 2 weeks before the playoffs, a team that is out loads another team. I don't usually have deadlines, just as a matter of preference, where teams in the upper echelon might want to perform fair trades.

I didn't veto because you're trading from your depth. That's a general strategy. That you have Colston/Andre/Megatron, AND Driver on the bench, in no way played into my decision. It was the overall fact that you are getting an unfair trade with a team almost-out of the playoffs. On top of this, the trade at this moment does not in any way help Colm's team make a push for the playoffs. Wells as a top-15 RB? It's possible that he does, but I think you're either a drunkard or a psychic to make that claim. On top of all this, Wells is still in a committee, whereas Forte has his own show. Don't bring that trash in here...please...

I'm going to leave the matter for now. Tyche, Miz, others that have good football/fantasy football knowledge, please weigh in on the situation.
