gameguard and kaspersky dont mix

i am currently using kaspersky internet security 2010 and when i load aion after isntalling the 1.5 patch, i get a 114 GG error and it tells me that nprotect has stopped working. after some time researching the problem there are ALOT of other people with the same problem. the only current solution to it is to uninstall kaspersky completely. what a drag this is and i hope either GG or kaspersky comes up with a fix. so just a warning if ur a kaspersky customer.

This is weird. I was a bit worried when you mentioned that you were having problems with kaspersky as I too run it.

I just finished downloading the full v1.5 fresh install (not just the patch upgrade) and installed it. When it starts, kaspersky gives me the red warning box for gameguard. I click allow and it loads into the game (granted it takes about 15-20 seconds of a black screen to finally show the login screen.

I'm running windows 7 if that maybe has something to do with the difference of yours running or not. I'm not sure what OS your running.


edit: I do have gameguard pull up a web window, however, telling me how to reinstall the game with an error code of 124 & 153. I just close the window though. It's just a mild annoyance.

well i use vista prem 64 bit SP2 and i patched the CBT to the OBT and have had this issue, have tried everything possible since alot of other people have the same problem and still to no avail. maybe i should reinstall the game with the 1.5 version from scratch.

It might be the Vista thing, everyone that I know that has Vista is having to do another 5-10 steps to get Aion running.. that's one of the downsides to Vista, an additional 5+ steps when installing most programs to get them to work XD

You should have fewer issues on 64bit os's as failguard apparently isnt able to access 64bit applications. Its on aionsource somewhere.

GG is a rootkit and Kaspersky sees it as a virus and disables it from what I've heard.

In other words, if you have Kaspersky, you can't play Aion. Least that's what a friend in my guild says because he has the same thing as you.

Back when I was on xp64 I had kaspersky working ok with aion, but I have recently put vista64 ultimate on and could not run caion with kaspersky. GG can suck a nut.

There's a GameGuard bypasser, the author says there will be an update for 1.5 in 1-2 days. If you can't play because of GG I'd recommend using it..

Can Confirm that it works my logitech display works normally with the patch applied and the game running instead of it locking up cos of Failguard. Trust me if ya want yer system to work normally use this, mightnt like the idea of having to hack the game before its even released but Rootkit = GTFO.
