Source? Seems a stretch to me because ever since SE announced FFXIV everyone that's a 360 fanboy seems to think that SE saying "We're looking into bringing it to Xbox," means 100% they're be a 360 version and thus rumors ensue.

I have no doubt they wouldn't mind putting it on 360 but there must have been a reason it wasn't originally for all 3 systems even if it was as simple as developing for 3 platforms was more than SE could handle. I think though it's more likely that there may be an issue with Sony or Microsoft. Either Sony is providing some incentive to keep FFXIV off 360 initially or with Microsoft perhaps SE didn't want to deal again with Xbox-live (Microsoft could have said FFXIV would be gold service only?) There's plenty more reasons I could think of none of which have any basis in reality but again I think it's pretty obvious there's a reason as to why FFXIV wasn't announced on 360.

Anyway, I remember reading somewhere that they had an issue with Microsoft, and if they can strike a deal with Microsoft they will release it on 360 too. As for now, iy will only be PC and PS3. I can't remember what they said the problem with Microsoft was, though.

As SE themselves said releasing it on as many platforms as possible is positive for them as that'll reach out to a larger player base. I'm thus sure that the above is true about Microsoft.

Some of this is up in the air, since we don't know what kind of WiFi/3G access there will be. No 3G = no live streaming blog, which will suck, and we'll just have to come up for air to send some pics out.

Any suggestions for how to cover TGS would be very much appreciated as well. As mentioned above, we're thinking a CoveritLive/Twitter combo, but it would be nice to be able to take in and respond to comments this time.

I was out in Chiba today for a client, near Makuhari Messe... 3G should not be an issue (I have a SoftBank iPhone as well). I'd recommend a net book/ultra-light laptop with an Emobile card though for better access to upload/post stuff. I'm planning on going to TGS... if you want to meet up and use my laptop and Emobile connection, that would be fine. Drop me a PM here if you are interested...

Anything is possible... :D The last time I was actually there for an event, I didn't have much of a problem. However, for this event, the place will be packed with RF devices and the cell sites could be saturated. I guess it'll be a crap shoot then.
