Chibiterasu ftw
Apprehensive as all hell with none of the original team working on it... but I'll probably pick it up if it makes it to america, just hoping the series will live on.

Bricks have been shat.
I LOVED the original Okami and was really sad when the game somewhat bombed on Ps2 despite every review giving it a near perfect rating. My friend was on the fence about buying it so I lent him my disc for what was supposed to be a week, I havent seen it in going on 2 years now.
I really hope this sells well so there's a possibility of a true sequel following the events in the end of the last game on a home console (heck I'd even be happy with a Wii game.)
No sound but here's the trailer

so... should I go buy the original Okami now?
Wow, much better in motion, and gameplay looks solid to boot. Day 1! (for now)
Yes! It's not the best game ever, but it's very good. The one fairly irritating thing I remember is that the intro is fairly long (hours) and you can't speed up the text for it. But it's a gorgeous game with good sound, gameplay and story. The Wii version's controls...I hated them at first, but then figured them out and ended up liking them more than the original by halfway through. A lot of people dislike them though, so I'd stick with the PS2 version.
It is the zelda for the Ps2. At first I was kind of iffy at the whole concept of the wolf being the hero, but once I got into the game and through the first hour or so I was completely hooked. Of the games for the Ps2, it ranks easily in my top 5.
my top 5 would be:
Suikoden 5
FF12
Okami
God of War
Tales of the Abyss
this is just to give you a sense of my genres.
*extremely* disappointed that its not on an HD platform (either PS3 or 360 would have been great)...but I'll still be getting it for the DS since I absolutely loved the first one ;(
New (actual) trailer finally. YouTube - Okamiden
Isn't the big reason it sold so poorly on PS2 because it was like the last title to come out before PS3? I think they came out around the same time...
Seems like alot of awesome games that sold poorly are getting sequels on DS, see Valkyria Chronicles.
One of the most amazing things about the entire Okami experience to me were the graphics. At every new town/location I'd always just wander around and be amazed at how beautiful everything looked. And now it's coming out on a DS, which is small and most likely won't look half as beautiful as the original. Disappointed to say the least.
