Red Wings with good draft picks? WHO KNEW?
They would have the #1 and #2 for the 90s too!

It was an interesting read on this otherwise slow hockey day.
http://ca.sports.yahoo.com/nhl/blog/...urn=nhl,208347 I found this read troubling.
Also, how does Max Talbot not get on there? Late round pick, absolutely BURNS the Flyers and Red Wings in the playoffs. Character/intangibles are important too, not just goals & all-star/olympic teams made.
Talbot burned the Wings? He scored 2 garbage goals that should have been saved in the final game, outside of that he wasn't huge. 25ish pt seasons don't make you a huge steal.
Franzen has become close to a PPG player, and over a PPG player in the playoffs. Ericsson they're basing it off of him playing 1st line minutes for a lot of the playoffs and doing fairly well after only having played 19 games in the NHL, and being the absolute last pick.
I dont think you do play hockey, you remind me of one of these "know it alls" who when are asked to actually PLAY, suck it up hardcore.
While the actions Bertuzzi did are inexcusable, you are forgetting a little thing called "honor". If you take out the star player of another team with a dirty hit, you're going to get run at. If you happen to dodge the bullet for the remainder of the game, consider yourself lucky, but you will get it the next game, or the next, or the next. One way or another, you're going to get fucked up. Steve Moore knew this, and Bertuzzi tried to fight him, the "you did something wrong, I'm going to fight you, you dont have a choice" fight. Moore rejected the notion, so Bertuzzi jumped him. Once again, I'm not justifying grinding his face to the ice...but if Moore had accepted the fact he hit the teams leading scorer with a dirty hit, accepted the fight, he probably would still be playing in the NHL today.
I think YOU do not play hockey. I know of no amateur league that allows any sort of hitting. My uncle (the one who married the Nashville girl who loved the Preds) used to play in an amateur adult ice hockey league and they allowed no hitting either. Its just ridiculous to claim something like that when people here on the forum's know easily where I'm refering when I say "Bills on rt51".
In my league, theres no hitting to begin with, and theres no "star players". I couldnt have ever hurt someone with a hit - seeing as there is no hitting - much less hurt a star player - as there are no star players - much less stayed in the game to recieve my punishment / fight - because I would've been ejected for hitting and injuring someone.
And your whole argument, especially the last statement, makes you sound like a fucking psycho/sociopath. You're saying "I'm not defending Bertuzzi" but you're turning around and saying "Moore deserved it and its his fault it happened for not manning up immediately earlier in the game."
& LMAO @ Badkarma gettin a ban.
I just looked at the Bertuzzi-Moore video in question, Bertuzzi spent a good 6 seconds asking him to fight.
Do you really think theres no vengeance in the NHL? Do you truly honestly think that when a star player recieves dirty illegal treatment, that the coach responds by putting their enforcer on the ice to put the puck in the net? Fuck no, its to send a message.
I rest my case. I may be a fanatic, a zealot, when it comes to my Pens fanship, but you are just a psychologically damaged barbarian. No one deserves what he got, in no way should one ever intentionally hit someone in hockey in the eyes/neck/balls/knees. Its very easy to permanently maim someone in those areas.
Reverting to ad hominem so quickly? He's saying that Bertuzzi wasn't out to end Moore's career, he was trying to rough him up for injuring his captain, and it went wrong.
But hes also saying "He could've avoided this by just taking the fight. All he had to do was just agree to the initial attempts to fight. He brought this upon himself."
You know who else claims that a victim brought their tragedy upon themself? Fucking Al Qaeda & similar minded terrorists.
Why don't we start claiming all women bring rapes upon themselves too while we're at it?
God you have your head so far up Crosbys ass, you fail to understand anything.
Should I do epichuge font too for you to realize I never said that Bertuzzi should have rode him down to the ice? While the actions Bertuzzi did are inexcusable, you are forgetting a little thing called "honor". If you take out the star player of another team with a dirty hit, you're going to get run at. If you happen to dodge the bullet for the remainder of the game, consider yourself lucky, but you will get it the next game, or the next, or the next. I'm far from the most popular person on these boards, but I know anyone who follows this thread will agree with my notion that there is self-policing within the league. anyone who knows a god damn thing about hockey, WHICH YOU DONT, is fully aware of this. Do you think enforcers would exist as NHL players if there was no on-ice policing? Do you think these players are given contracts to put the puck in the fucking net: Riley Cote, Georges Laraque (2-5 yrs ago okok), Dan Carcillo, Bob Probert, Tie Domi? FUCK NOOOOOOOOOOOOO. They are there to make sure their star players dont get fucked up. And yes, Before you go "but my precious sweetheart Crosby can fight" and you link me his fights, ask yourself the following:
Who would Dan Bylsma prefer sitting in the box for 5 minutes? Crosby or Godard?
Does he want to risk Sid possibly breaking his hand on someones jaw?
Does he want Sid sitting in the box for 5 minutes?
Oh, and while I'd rather avoid the philosophical debate, lets quickly answer your other question about women getting raped:
If a girl walking out alone at midnight, with their tits hanging out, wearing a super mini thats exposing half of your ass, kinda like this:

I hate to sound like an asshole, but yeah, you're asking for it.
Back to hockey, remember when Mitchell destroyed Towes? Completely clean legal hit, yet Towes got fucked up because his head was down. if you skate with your head down, youre going to get whats coming to you. #23 (I cant tell who it is) didnt help matters with the suicide pass though.
^ Meh, I'd hit it. On topic. We must now begin the Free Badkarma drive. We must respect our fallen brother and resurrect him like Mark Messier did to the Rangers!
As I've already stated...I get your attempts to save face by the un-bolded parts of your statement, but everything else in it basically shows that you believe Moore brought this upon himself and he has no one to blame but himself. And your remark about girls getting raped basically confirms this belief.
I have no idea. I'm going to check his profile and look at his last posts to see what happened.
Talbot has always had a knack for being clutch in the playoffs. He never has a great regular season but somehow the guy is always around the net in the playoffs. Without him there might not be a new banner in Mellon arena. He's a reliable third liner who does just about anything that's needed. He scores timely goals. Fights, hits, kills penalties, takes important faceoffs. While he's certainly no candidate for the Art Ross trophy he's definitely a huge part of the Penguins.Talbot burned the Wings? He scored 2 garbage goals that should have been saved in the final game, outside of that he wasn't huge. 25ish pt seasons don't make you a huge steal.
Karma was banned for posting a major unspoilered spoiler in the Dexter thread. I think that's one of Sonomaa's favorite shows so that's why he got the ban.
On topic, as a Bluejackets fan, I feel like an Indians fan from the Major League 1 / 2 movies. First I'm all like "We suck", then we make the playoffs "Yay we're awesome!", now this year "We're shitty again!".
Hawks now 6-1-1 against the Eastern Conference, Niemi is 6-1 as a starter with 3 shutouts and a .937 save percentage. 5 different players with 9+ goals.
I'm still pissed about losing to Lalime's sack ass, but things are sweet right now, and they still have Burish and Bolland coming back from injuries at some point this season.
