The New York Rangers are 28th in the league. Here's to a season of hoping they stay there. I wouldn't mind ending up like the Penguins. Being a laughing stock for 6 or 7 years, getting strong draft picks and completely owning everyone else they play.

Proof the 1-point OT Loss system is stupid:

Detroit with 33 GP has 39 Points (17-11-5) and is in 8th/Playoffs.
Vancouver with 33 GP has 38 Points (19-14-0) and is in 10th/outside.

More wins / less overall losses, but points/places behind the Wings, and consequently, as of right now, out of the playoffs.

I understand WHY they had to add that point to get the owners to agree to the shootout implementation, but geeze... if a team misses the playoffs in April in a similar situation, they have a legitimate beef.

I actually agree with you in this, 3 pt games are fucking retarded. It's nice to see a winner all of the time, but adding a free point into the mix just fucks things up. They either need to change all games to 3 pts or keep everything at 2.

I'm still wondering how a Swede goaltender as good as Lundqvist got to the 205th pick and did not get taken by the Wings. Hakan Andersson must have been taking a year off or something. AO with the Pens would be funny, because then the Caps would have Malkin and the posterboy of their franchise would be a huge manchildish Russian instead of an insane Russian.

At the same time I can't help but wonder how mediocre the Wings would be if they had not struck gold with Datsyuk and Zetterberg at 197th and 210th overall.

edit: Also, if you suck badly enough even the lottery almost has no chance to stop you. 0-82-0 baby, woo!

I actually prefer morning classes now. When I started college I absolutely dreaded them and only wanted night classes. I also started college as a non-hockey fan. Now I'm a hockey fan, now night classes fuck with my game-watching. That, and, I dunno, having the rest of the day free is awfully nice considering when I have afternoon classes or night classes I usually sleep through most of the day, get home, putz around on the internet for a few hours, then sleep. Not much of a life with afternoon or night classes.

I regretably have to try your way of life next semester. I'm coming up on graduation in 2 semesters and a couple classes I need were only offered on T/TH, one at 8 AM. So I have 3 classes 8 AM-2pm T/TH, a Monday night class (not a big hockey night, although my Monday night class this past fall semester caused me to miss the Dec 7th Pens-Ducks student rush game cause I had a major assignment to turn in / accompanying presentation to give), and an online class :/

Shittiest part too is when scheduling for work-study position, nothing was open except 8 AM type shifts too. So now I gotta go to work at 8 AM Fridays and every other Saturday too...

This is so painful right now, I just want to roll over and sleep til dinner. Part of it is just general fatigue being the end of the semester, but still, damn.

I used to work 3pm - 11pm Monday - Wednesday and 7am - 3pm Saturday and Sunday. And now I work Monday - Friday 7am - 3pm. You get used to it after a while. I used to stay up until three or four in the morning. Now I'm in bed by like eleven at the latest. So sad. I'm only 31 and I have the sleep pattern of a 65 year old man

I was laughing my ass off at the Adams fight. A bunch of us were watching it. The only explanation I can come up with is that Adams didn't realize who he was jawing with. Carcillo is batshit insane lol.

Game was fantastic to watch just because now Philly is going to be angry when we hit the Wachovia Center on Thursday. Should make for another entertaining game. And as long as I've been watching hockey I can't remember a time when there were three different fights in under a minute. So that was a new one for me I think.
