Jackman does not deserve to be in the league. With the shit I've been seeing him pull he should be suspended, no doubt.

Also I'm back, was a fun game on NYE (Hawks vs Devils), funny to watch Keith give up the turnover that destroyed the shutout.

Nice that the Wings are winning a little as well, should get some key players back in the next week or two.

You know I never want us to get scored on, but I'm glad Tkachuk at least gets a goal for no doubting losing a few teeth. The puck hit him right in the damn jaw lol, dude just dropped and then the puck rolled in. Ish, how was the trip to the UC? Wear your Wings gear?

I like how Huet was too busy watching him like GODDAYUM to track the puck lol, that's a pretty deserving score.

Glad to see them not back down from the goon play, not just stepping up for the fights but blowing them away with actual good hockey. Kudos to Hendry for turning down a fight when there'd be a sure 2 minute for roughing, too.

Didn't wear my Wings gear, preferred to watch the game rather than argue with everyone around me for a few hours. I do love the UC though, having only been to the Joe, UC and Pepsi Center for games I have to say the experience is by far the best at the UC. The Joe is nice because of the history (and banners lol) but the actual arena is quite dated now, and it has been tougher to completely fill it up recently. I'd say the Pepsi center is about as nice as the UC but the Hawks fans are just great as far as cheering for their team. A lot of them have no idea what the fuck is going on in the game but they do cheer. And the Star Spangled Banner at the UC is one of my favorite things in sports.

Pierre Lebrun on his blog reports two of the leading candidates for the American winter classic next year (remember they're going to 2, one on Hockey in Canada Day or w/e and an American one on new years) is Washington vs Pittsburgh in Heinz Field (its about 15 F today and frosting snow (less than an inch) in Pittsburgh for reference) and in the new Cowboys Stadium with the Dallas Stars hosting someone. Interesting how the Yankee Stadium thing didn't really pan out with the old stadium and isn't being mentioned as much this year for the new stadium.

Obviously... you know what one I'm in favor of. Dallas? :/ Really? Its not even outdoors if its there!!

Then again, this is Pierre Lebrun who also praises the Bruins signing of Miroslav Satan and suggests the Blackhawks trade for Ilya Kovalchuk in the same blog post...

Yankees Stadium with a Rangers/Someone matchup would be good except that I heard somewhere they were making a bid for a bowl game to be played there, so they could not commit to it or something. Washington/Pittsburgh would be great for the marketing, but I think someone other than the Pens deserve a chance at it before they get another go. The Dallas idea sounds like shit, I agree with you there.

Minnesota might be a good place for one at one point. They are outside of the East, but they have the most consistent attendance of any US team for the past few years I believe, and it's cold enough up there.

Also the Blackhawks trading for Kovalchuk... I wasn't aware the cap was going up by 20 million next year (or that the Thrashers would take an above average goaltender and defenseman for one of the best offensive players in the game).

Dallas would be a horrible place for the Winter Classic.

NOW Minnesotta Wild vs Dallas Stars (with throwback North Stars Jerseys) up in St Paul would be amazing.

They souldn'T give pittsburgh another Winter classic.

Imo they should try to do most of the teams before reussing the same team again.

If the Canadians are going to seperate outdoor games... and you exclude previous hosts (Boston, Chicago, Buffalo), there isn't many teams left who can host the Winter Classic.

    Colorado
    Minnesota
    Pittsburgh
    Philadelphia
    Washington
NYR (out of the running it seems)
NYI (don't even have an indoor stadium potentially)
New Jersey (yeah right! make everyone watch THAT in the cold?)
Detroit (Is it cold enough there?)
Columbus (maybe, its kinda mild there compared to the Appalachain mountains)

No one else in America can really host it. PHI-PIT in Happy Valley has always been mentioned, as they have Penn State's massive stadium there that can probably even top Buffalo's football stadium attendance. PIT-WAS would be the #1 best Winter Classic matchup from a marketing standpoint. It wouldn't prove Bettman sucks Crosby's dick - it would prove he has a brain (which some people are skeptical of).

Its now become a rivalry game. Theres no way Florida, Dallas, a Kovalchuk-less Thrashers, Nashville, etc deserve to be in this game. Its not a randomly pick any two teams system now.

Looking back at how the Pens played this weekend I'm kind of glad I had shit going on so I missed the games. Losing streaks happen. It's not time to hit the panic button. Also, was anyone else laughing at the Winter Classic when they named team USA? Compare that to team Canada and it was like they were naming a junior team.

You're actually losing a point because of the horrid joke about the midgets Abraxas. I'm sorry. But seriously team Canada tossing out Heatley, Crosby, etc and here comes team USA with....Joe Pavelski.........K.

lol, I guess Niemi would have tied for the league lead in shutouts if he would have held on for the last 3 minutes last night...in 11 games...

Winter Classic in Columbus wouldn't happen. The would need to use the Horseshoe to get the maximum value out of it and OSU has been doing all it can to NOT help the Bluejackets in any way, shape or form. It would be cool to see, but our ownership does not care enough about hockey to even try to convince OSU to play along.
