Zetterberg is back, Cleary is back, Holmstrom gets his foot fractured after practice doing some extra shot-redirecting practice.
Jimmy Howard has an amazing game, and Helm is fucking clutch.

Scott Burnside writes that Fleury is backing up Martin Brodeur, and Luongo is #3 for Canada. Who fucking lets these people write columns?!?! Its IN Vancouver! Its LUONGO!
and its.... *sigh* ....Fleury ._.
Yeah, last night I can't defend Fleury. He looked horrible. Not to take anything away from the Flyers, but Fleury was definitely letting in some beachballs last night. It was at least a fun game to watch as usual. I honestly think Fleury has mailed it in until after the Olympics.
Well outside of the Bulls, Chicago does have a history of failing in spectacular fashion when they really shouldn't. It's why you're all lovable losers!
I think recently some of it could be attributed to them not really belonging there in the first place(06' Bears, lol). I keep thinking the Hawks are going to slow down at some point but there's so many role-player guys who keep stepping up like Versteeg/Madden/Kopecky/Campbell recently, which is what really makes the difference on winning the big deal games. I'm still pretty worried about the Kovalchuk rumours, I think it'd be absolutely disastrous for them to trade for him at this point in the season.
Just curious, how many of you guys actually play on your spare time in organized leagues and such? I start lessons Sunday and I was probably going to have some random equipment and other questions, and I wasn't sure if I should start a thread of if I could just chat with the people I already talk to in this one.![]()
They have too great a chemistry with one another now at this point, if I were in charge I wouldn't touch the team right now. Ride out the season, and then deal with cap issues and dumping players to free up money, after the playoffs.
We really don't have a weak line, all four lines we roll out are scoring goals, it's not just a few guys. We have 7 guys with 10+ goals and another 3 guys within 2-3 goals of hitting 10 goals too. Then you have guys that factor into the score sheet but aren't getting the goals, but making plays to spring guys on breaks. Don't mess with something that works says I.
atm my main one is regarding knee support, my left one has ended up really sore after skating often, so I was considering a getting a brace or something. I've seen a lot of people say the neoprene ones do nothing, and from what I've seen the real ones made to skate with are stupidly expensive, not sure if I should bother getting something or just have a lot of ice ready, lol.
How about stop being a pussy! Hockey players don't complain you bitch!!!!![]()
It's bad enough that I already feel like an old man over it. I'm 26 and haven't done shit in terms of athletics since I got done with football/track in high school, I used to run a mile in under 5 minutes, the first time I went skating hard a couple months ago I nearly barfed, lol.
Dude, I'm 31 imagine how I would feel doing that now. I'm old. And married. I'm slowly approaching death more and more by the minute.
I figure if I get good I can just go on the Chelios schedule and make the Wolves by the time I'm 46
I still want to see one of those 'Hockey Is For Everyone' PSAs with Avery where he's like "Hockey is for everyone...and so is your girlfriend, faggot"
Sean Avery needs to do a version of my new haircut. He really does, also, his new girl is fucking ridiculous, I saw her at the Garden, I popped a woody as she walked by.
I dunno about support for a knee, I don't need to use one. I just throw on my gear and go lol, and I'll be turning 28 in May. Just take it slow at first, if you haven't skated in a while you lose your legs and need to build that all back up again. In the league I play out of at Seven Bridges, we have like a month layoff between sessions and even in that time, it usually takes me like 2 games or so to be able to skate at my full potential. I'll notice that I'll be tired by the third period the first few games back but as they go on I don't get as tired as fast.
I'm hoping the outdoor ice patch by my friend's will be cleaned off and skateable today, I've just been doing open skate at various rinks for the last couple of months, but aside from dropping $6 a pop on it they always force you to do the NASCAR circle, and I need some serious work on both stopping on my left and doing crossovers to my right consecutively.
I'm able to do it once for a quick direction change going right so far, but going in a tight circle is still kinda difficult, and trying to my skates back to stop on my right foot from that = me assed out on the ice
