I'm hoping the outdoor ice patch by my friend's will be cleaned off and skateable today, I've just been doing open skate at various rinks for the last couple of months, but aside from dropping $6 a pop on it they always force you to do the NASCAR circle, and I need some serious work on both stopping on my left and doing crossovers to my right consecutively.

I'm able to do it once for a quick direction change going right so far, but going in a tight circle is still kinda difficult, and trying to my skates back to stop on my right foot from that = me assed out on the ice

You should be a goalie, getting the crease slides down is a bittttttttttch. Took about a month before I could do one when I became a goalie about 6 years ago.

Yeah I've always been amazed at the quick side-to-side movements they do, watching Huet warm up the other night was pretty cool. Other issues right now are transitioning from backward skating back to foward smootly, I can go from forward to backward fine but I seem to trip up when I try to turn back around, I don't fall but I definitely look goofy as fuck, lol.

Don't look now but the Caps are 3-0, out-scoring opponents 17-5, since Ovie took over the "C." Yeah, it's against weaker competition, but still the team was in a tailspin since the Chimera trade. Things get interesting soon though, with Philly, Detroit, @Pittsburgh and Phoenix all in the same week.

Also, midseason awards from TSN's Scott Cullen include Ovie for Hart and Green for Norris. Shocker.

faaaaaaaaarts how on earth did we blow a 5-1 lead against the Wild...as soon as it hit OT I knew Hawks were going to lose. At least the offense doesn't seem to be an issue for the time being, they've been averaging 5 a game for the last 2-3 weeks.

Well I'm not going to pull the "you don't watch the Caps" card because I see very little of other teams' games, especially in the Western Conference. Based on most of what I've read this year, the pair of Keith/Seabrook are doing an outstanding job, and Keith's offensive production is on par with Green's, so I can't really argue if he wins. But Green isn't as laughable as you might think in his own zone, he's not as physical as you might like but he's solid positionally. Most of the knock on him is based off last year's playoff run when he was, admittedly, terrible. I think if the Caps go deep in the playoffs, and Green plays well (and more importantly stays healthy) he could change some people's minds.

What sucks is he just got hurt in my NHL '10 season, so no Fake Norris for him.

Anyway, good to see us win a game tonight. Close-ups of Fleury show that this game was critical for his piss-poor confidence, he was smiling like crazy. Hopefully this game got his head out of his ass so he can actually watch the puck now. Our defense looked a lot better too as an overall team, 15 blocked shots in the first period alone. Orpik out, dunno what happened to him. Which sucks, because if he's out for any extended period of time, that means Skoula comes back in, which sucks a lot.

Also, got my tickets for the last regular season game, fuck yeah! $342 a seat in A section, row B. LOL what a steal, I honestly could not pass it up considering F section tickets for the most part are as expensive on TicketExchange.

Crosby is now tied with AO in goals, and his goal last night was RIDICULOUS. Deked through Tomas Kaberle's legs 1 on 2, made him turn the wrong way, and as he blazed past him he fell forward a bit with one hand on his stick he poked it past Gustavsson. I think H. Sedin or Marleau wins the MVP though as a twist this year.

Also Green shouldn't win. The Norris isn't the defensive scoring title. Its for best DEFENSEman. If you can't play defense, you shouldn't touch the award.

Yeah, that goal was pretty amazing to see lol, especially considering our recent slump. Earlier in the season, Halak played the Penguins for the first time in his career and Crosby got a hat-trick. Last night Gustavsson was introduced to the Penguins and Crosby as well.

I've had center ice section D seats too I think, but they were at the top of the row right beneath some of the booths. Amazing seats. D section is probably my favorite section in the place to be honest. Sitting on ice is fucking amazing, but D section (especially center ice where you'll be) is just a lot better I think. Like watching TV but in real life.
